I asked her permission if I could make about 60 of these for an activity we are having at church for the women's organization celebrating the Woman's Organization Birthday Anniversary (Relief Society). So...the only thing I did different was sew the seams by machine (maybe won't be so bad if I use coordinating thread instead of white)....and she did a cute blind stitch. I don't know if I want to take the time to hand sew the seams shut. What do you think, will it be okay with the seam showing on the outside? Should I use Samoan fabrics, use a jelly roll and have different ones, or use traditional fabrics and just stream line it and get them done faster?
As you are making 60 of them I would do whatever is fastest! Plus, you won't have to change the thread out with each one if they are all the same.

ReplyDeleteWhile it is nice for you to want to make them all different and be FUSSY with the seam, etc......I think you need to do them in a way that is quick and easy......since you are making SIXTY of them!!!!! I"m sure those women will appreciate that you undertook such a large task and will be fine with them in traditional fabrics and with the seam on the outside!!! (If not, collect them all back and send them to your blogging friends....LOL)

ReplyDeleteBarb these turned out fun.. I can't wait to try one. I love the Idea of using jelly rolls on them. I think a nice bright colored jelly roll would work out fantastic.

ReplyDeleteWhat are you using the little baskets for? I love the idea that they are all different and the Samoan fabrics sound really cool but I don't know if that fits with your theme or not. Can you flat felt the seams? Otherwise, matching thread would be good! lol

I absolutely love this! It was wonderful. Can I make a suggestion? I love the red background you added but I can't read the blue writting on the red, it is very difficult to see it. BUT, I love this and I love the smaller quilt on top! Very cool. Steph
