One of my sewing buddies made one of these for a mutual friends birthday. It was soooooooooooo cute, so one evening I decided to make some..
The purple one is my first attempt. It is truly less than perfect.....so my thoughts were, I can't give it away, don't want to redo it.....and don't want to throw it away...so if there is someone out there that would like a very much less than perfect grab bag, just respond to this post and at the end of the day, I will draw a name. Surely someone has a grandchild or someone who would love a reject?
The first two are gifts.
I also made me a shirt that evening (all but the buttons)....I would show it but there is not a screen big enough....HA!!! it is pink with white flowers. I love it, I did make it a little big....I guess sometimes I think I am bigger than what I really am.
If you are interested, you can find the instructions for these bags on www.allpeoplequilt.com
hi barb, I think your wee bag is just too cute! love it
ReplyDeleteCount me in!! Your "reject" look wonderful to me!!
ReplyDeleteCrispy
The bags look good especially in the samoan prints. We made those on New Years Day with Pat Sloan. They are cute.
ReplyDeleteThere's always a use for one more bag. I've seen this bag in several places, but I've never tried to make one.
ReplyDeleteI love it!! That is the Japanese knot bag - like the one I gave away a while back! I think yours is perfect - love the colors!!Put me in the running please!!! :>)
ReplyDeletewhatever is "wrong" with the bag doesn't show in the picture!
ReplyDeleteI am sure one of my granddaughters would love that bag. Most of them love purple.
ReplyDeleteThey are fun to make aren't they? Yours turned out so pretty. Love the fabrics.
ReplyDeleteI saw those bags and also thought they were cute!
ReplyDeleteYes, it's also good for going to the grocery store with just a small list
I think all the bags look perfect. I know if I won it my daughter and I would be fighting over it.
ReplyDeleteI love the way all the bags turned out. I'd love to see the shirt, too.
ReplyDeleteThey look great to me Barb.
ReplyDeleteI love less than perfect, that's what I make!! Would love that grab bag. Been meaning to make one, but I'm in panic mode right now.
ReplyDeleteBetter get those buttons on so you can wear the shirt.
If it makes it easier, use different colored buttons for the eclectic look. That way you get to look forward to sewing on the next button.
I love the bags in those floral fabrics. I am going to have to check out the pattern. Thanks for the link.
ReplyDeleteI'd be honoured!
ReplyDeleteThis is a cute bag, I've made 3 myself and just love it. Love the purple fabric.
ReplyDeleteBarb...I would be honored to have your purple "reject"! I love the fabric, and when you draw my name...let me know. Yay!
ReplyDeleteBarb, I love your idea of giving it away to someone with a grandchild who would love it. MJ, my girlfriend gives me all her prototypes....I have some real misfits here...LOL.
ReplyDeleteI saw those bags last Feb...MJ made some to give as gifts at our retreat. I like the idea of putting a gift inside...I had not thought of that.
Smiles,
Kelly
Me! Me! I would love the reject!
ReplyDeleteWhat fun bags Barb- so bright and cheery - I love your tropical fabrics-perhaps I will be the lucky winner of your grab bag-
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing the link.
Warmest regards,
Anna
Your bags came out cute! My first attempt with that pattern didn't come out perfect either.
ReplyDeleteMore shirts without buttons? Sounds like a trend at your house lol
I think it's such a cute bag. The fabric is gorgeous. I would love to win it. Count me in!!!
ReplyDeleteLove those bags...some girls here have them!
ReplyDeleteJulia ♥
I probably missed the drawing but I love the bags.... I looked at the photo on my reader and I thought it was a bathing suit top. Perhaps I drank too much wine at my book club tonight.
ReplyDeletePat
Who would love to win a bag or a bathing suit top...
Barb- I was at Sock Summit (an amazing knitting expo in Portland, Oregon) last month and these little bags were selling like hotcakes! If you put a ball of yarn in it, and feed the yarn out through the opening (not quite zipped up) you can put the bag on your wrist and walk around and knit! WAAAAY COOL! I'm going to make one and put the zipper opening at the bottom and leave a small opening at the top (base of the zipper) so the yarn can feed out and not rub against the teeth of the zipper. And just for the record- if you start making "perfect" things- you'll just make the rest of us look bad. I love your little bags!
ReplyDeleteVery cute bags...I have seen the pattern, but haven't made one yet.
ReplyDeleteI looked at your bags and thought I could do one but on the comments they mention a zip ! I cannot see a zip
ReplyDeleteThanks for visiting my blog and leaving a comment--cottonreel
That would make a perfect little sock knitting bag for on the go!
