TWAS A BUSY WEEK LAST WEEK!!
So I will start off with my most recent finish. This is that swap I did a while back. I just stippled it. Do you ever sew and think....wow, this is awesome, nothing has gone wrong................................ and then it does. Like you jinx yourself. Well, I did in this case, I was two thirds the way through, so excited and wham!!!! I sew a seam in the back....then the tension goes bad, then I run out of thread....shall I go on. So, I am glad to have this done.
I have also figured out that when I start to sandwich my quilt, before I start to quilt it, I make sure I have the binding ready. This way, I go from quilting to binding and don't have the problem of just letting the quilt sit waiting for a binding.
Don't forget about the quilt giveaway below....
Happy Quilting!!
Those surfing monkeys are cute. The green was a great choice to set off the blocks.
ReplyDeleteI agree with having the binding ready before you start to quilt. I usually do that but didn't on 3 of the quilts I quilted this month. They are still sitting there waiting for their binding....
This looks really nice. Don't tell me Mr. Pfaff is giving you a problem already, though?
ReplyDeleteAnother pretty quilt Barb, even with all the "extra" work that you had to put up with LOL.
ReplyDeleteCrispy
Having the binding ready is a great idea! Of course sometimes I can't make up my mind about the binding until the last minute. Oh well!
ReplyDeleteBarb, it turned out lovely--even if you had a bit of a bumpy time with it. I have my swap blocks waiting to finish but other things keep getting priority. Sigh...
ReplyDeleteHi Barb, I think we all can relate to what you said in your post.....pretty quilt....I always make my binding ready as well...Warm Regards Lyn
ReplyDeleteThank Goodness!!!...it's not just me and my machine!!! I thought i was the only one....LOL
ReplyDeleteEnjoy......LindaMay
Nicely done!!! It is a good feeling to get one finished. I love the monkeys too, by the way.
ReplyDeleteBarb, I have to say I have had the same thing happen to me. I have yet to make a quilt where I could say there is absolutly no flaw in this one though they are getting to be fewer and fewer but not down to zero yet.
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely top! The tip about the binding is a very good one. I`ll keep that in mind. PS. Check out my giveaway :)
ReplyDeleteYes ma'am...this is my life. Ha!!
ReplyDeleteVery nice though even with all the trials!!
You are so on top of things! I will have to keep that in mind.
Should be easy for me to do as I mostly just do small quilts anymore!
Hugs,
Lola
Ohh it looks great, my blocks are in UFO pile, which somehow keeps getting bigger!!!
ReplyDeleteGreat quilt! I need to get some bindings ready! ;-) I usually let it sit until I get around to binding, but want to be more on the ball so off I go!~
ReplyDeleteVery nice quilt, Barb. I love your choice of sashing! Lane
ReplyDeleteGreat job. Love the variety of blocks.
