This is the dog that went missing and the first chance he got this morning he took off again!!! Bad Bad doggie. Who knows how long he will stay gone??? If he is not careful....snip snip!!
So......................... one day about four weeks ago my husband and I were walking the pastures, having a nice leisurely walk....thinking all is right with the world.
When this dog you consider to be cute comes running full speed into my leg. He flips me up and then down on him. I am sure if I had not fallen on him I would have broke something because this little feller twisted my knee and ankle. He was yelping so loud (wouldn't you if a two ton elephant fell on top of you)? (I am sure his nose was the first pain he felt when he hit my leg...at that speed..ouch).
So he is yelping and yelping, I am laying on the ground asking about the stupid dog (sorry dog lovers but you get tripped up by a dog and see if you don't call him stupid)....I am in such pain I can barely breathe.
Worried whether I am in a bed of fire ants wanting to get up but my husband has his hand on my shoulder and hip telling me to rest a minute.
So I try to get up with a shooting pain in my back, knee, and ankle. Trying so hard not to cry.
Finally, I am able to sit up but getting off the ground is another problem.
I ask my husband to get the car...he says "Try to Walk it out"......I am thinking WHAT...walk it out...oh my stinking gosh is he serious.
Okay...so I try to stand up (lucky for me I have my cane), have him take off my boots...and I start hobbling home..wincing in pain the whole time. At one point he offers to carry me...and I laugh at that one. What a sight that would be.
I make it home to the couch where I do not move for hours....Thinking something is broke because this pain is almost unbearable. Lucky for me, nothing was broke...Dr. said so. So...........four weeks later it is somewhat better but now we have a missing bad bad doggie.Don't you just love these dogs....I am embroidering a set of them.
Oh my gosh, Barb. I am glad you didn't break anything, but the healing from the bumps and bruises can sometimes take even longer to heal.
ReplyDeleteSooo....did the dog follow you home? Did he adopt you? Maybe he is out tripping someone else!
So sorry to hear you fell and are in so much pain. Prayers that you get well very soon! Love the doggies, thank you!
ReplyDeleteSo happy that you're on the mend. Good thing you had a cane with you too. I fear falling...just the word evokes fear! Take it easy and enjoy those cute embroidered dogs!
ReplyDeleteI know what you mean about falling. I ftripped over a curb and bruised my ribs. Not fun. Took about a month before I didn't feel a twinge when I had a deep breath.
ReplyDeleteWell, yes, he may have caused it, but I'm glad he was there to break your fall, so you didn't break any bones. Yah, but he's still cute, and I'm glad he was ok after all the excitement, and glad you're on the mend after same excitement. What a relief you DIDN'T land in a bed of dreaded fire ants!
ReplyDeleteSo very glad you're okay and nothing was broken. I totally agree on the neuter idea though. I once had a husky/shepherd mix while living in Colorado. That dog could jump a 6 foot fence. They can smell a female in heat up to 3 miles away. So, truly, getting him fixed will be good for both of you.
ReplyDeleteIt's nice you can make some dogs you DO have control over! Hope he manages to find his way home soon and you feel better!
ReplyDeleteDon't let that doggie adopt you again! He needs another home where he can't do so much damage feel better!
ReplyDeleteWhy didn't you tell me? I had the same situation with my daughters great pyraesse that almost dragged me across the street were it not for my neighbor screaming for help. I had bloody knees, elbows and sore hips for weeks. Glad you are on the mend
ReplyDeleteHe is so cute! What is his name?
ReplyDeleteI hope you're feeling much better and have recovered nicely!
Cute dog, sorry he has gone missing, hopefully he will be home soon....hope you are doing well now and are recovering nicely...
ReplyDeleteWow, Barb, what an adventure. The dog looks so innocent. I'm glad you are better.
ReplyDeleteHope your leg gets better soon, hugs
ReplyDeleteWell, what an adventure!!!! I'm sure the bad, bad doggie will show up eventually - they know a good home when they see one :)
ReplyDeleteRest, rest, rest!! That's what I had to do when I had my back injury. I was pretty much laid out for 6 weeks, but then things started feeling better. It sure seems as I get older, any little bump or trip has me aching for days :-( Hope you are better soon.
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh! We have a bull dog and he is strong. I would have cried and said yes carry me, I am a big baby. It has been four weeks an you still hurt. So sorry. Sounds like he is out sowing his wild oats. Hope he comes home soon as he is a cutie!
ReplyDeleteFunny story but I think that might have been the last of that dog. I am sorry I missed you tonight hope you have a great weekend.
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry for your horrid trip but glad to hear you're recovering now.
ReplyDeleteI Love some doggies, but they can be aggravating when they run off like that.
ReplyDeleteHe really is a cutie, too bad he ran into you Barb! I'm glad nothing was broken but it sure sounds like you really are sore. Great little embroidery doggies!
ReplyDeleteI love the embroidered doggies! Did you get a /cd of them, what is the name of the CD? I think they are adorable. But the real dog??? He's a cutie, but seems to have a wild side. Off running around like that--doesn't he know better?? Was he your dog when he took you down? Do you consider him your dog now? Glad you're getting around better.
ReplyDeleteSnip him! I am an avid dog lover and firmly believe every pet should be spayed or neutered. Everyone will be happier. And if he is following the call of nature, so to speak, you could have puppies in your future! Love the embroidery!
ReplyDeleteSo sorry you got hurt. Hope your missing dog turns up. He is probably off huntin'. Cute machine embroidery.

Ouchie! I think sprains can be more painful because you have to walk it out. Breaks can be immobilized. I hope your baby gets home soon. Sounds like he has met someone on the outside. Hmmmmm.
