THE CASE OF THE COCKY ROOSTER

See this rooster?

Well you better keep an eye on him if you are out on our farm.....minute you don't

                                 WHAM!!!!!

He will jump up and hit you!  No joke!

One day I was just standing there and "WHACK"....right on my calf.... Didn't even know it was coming.

Another day I was headed out to the pasture, paying no mind to things...just as I shut the gate there this rooster was running after me.  Still didn't pay no mind, was just glad I turned around.  That sucker followed me.  I had to swing my cane at it.

Just a few days ago I am walking but this gal has wised up....I keep an eye out for this cocky buggar.  Sure enough he comes running after me but....

the minute I turn around, he turns sideways but still has an eye on me.

I turn my back on him and sure enough....he comes again

I turn around and he turns sideways.

What is up with this cocky pest?

My son says to walk towards him and when I do, he just keeps coming...like him telling me to walk towards the light...."Don't wanna do it"!!!

So...one day this little chap may find himself in a pot of soup!!!

  5. Guess he thinks he is a guard chicken. I wonder if you brought him some snacks if he could learn to not attack you. Be careful. Maybe you should get a squirt gun.

  8. LOL Love your stories. At my mother's home there is a male swan that does the same thing, but I think he is protecting his babies. Does this rooster have babies?

  10. When I was about 10 or 11 my job was to herd in the cows in the early morning for milking. Dad never believed me that the bull kept chasing me (I had to roll under the barbwire fence many times to get away) until it chased him. You bet that old bull was sold pretty dang fast after that. Keep the cane handy because he sounds so mean and ornery that he probably wouldn't even taste good in soup (just to spite you)!

  11. OK, in my minds eye I see you having a nice day and this guy comes a chasing! I know it is not funny but but I keep thinking of Americas Funniest Videos!

  12. Sounds like he has to have the last word, so even putting him in pot of soup won't work, cos he'll make sure he is the stringiest, nastiest tasting soup ever.

  13. Funny, but really not. I thought on geese were on the attack as you describe. Apparently roosters too!

  14. I remember being chased by one as a child. Now I would probably kick him across the yard.

  17. I grew up on a farm and we had one rooster that was like that, chased me and only me every time I got near where he was. One day I finally had enough and stood my ground, told it to bring it on as this would be it's last time trying to attack me. It must have understood how fed up I was because when it started at me and I reached for it's neck it backed off and never came at me again. Good luck with your angry bird.

  19. You had better watch out. My rooster only went after me for some reason. I was the one who fed him! Why me?? I kept a stick at the back door to beat him off of me if I had to. If he is jumping and flying at you, he is trying to spur you. Those wounds do not heal easily. My husband did not believe me until he saw it happen a couple of times. I told him to shoot him. He would not do it. He came at me one time too many and I did.
