Can I just tell you how much I love these fabrics!!!Today I am giving away 4 fat quarters...trust me I was squealing like a stuck pig when I was cutting these up. It is so hard to give these lovelies away but just leave a comment and tell me why you love batiks.

ReplyDeleteThat yellow and blue are so pretty! I love Island Batiks, too. The colors are rich, and the dying process makes them have such depth of color. I can't wait to see all that Island Batiks is offering at Market.

ReplyDeleteWhy do I love batiks? That's easy! They are the sexiest fabrics in the world!!!!! If fabrics were movie stars, batiks would be Marilyn Monroe and John Wayne - megastars!!! When you use batiks in a quilt, you know you are going to end up with something beautiful, irregardless of the design :)

ReplyDeleteI love batiks because from one cut of the fabric you can get so many different colors and patterns to use. I love using them for applique because they don't fray. I also love them because they are so beautiful! Thanks for being willing to part with some beautiful batiks! K-
ReplyDeleteBatik is very common in my part of the world but it is totally different to what you are showing! very popular with the tourists though.
ReplyDeleteThe colours first and foremost, followed by how much denser the fabric is. Which makes I find making patchwork more accurate.

I love them because they are almost always rich in color and visual texture. There is also no "wrong side" so the odd scraps are a bit more versatile.

Batiks are my favorite. Our local LQS carries over 1,000 bolts of batiks. I am so spoiled. I just ignore the rest of the store. There's so much variety with batiks. What's not to love about them?

ReplyDeleteI love the blues and yellows. So bright, rich, and happy feeling, just like getting up on a summer morning. Batiks are one of my favorites because The dying process makes for beautiful, bright color, right from nature. I also love the texture and they're so easy to work with and make any project jump out at you. Don't feel bad about cutting the fabric. I'm sure the quarters will find a good , loving home. Thanks for sharing.
