WHAT DID I DO LAST NIGHT TO BRING IN THE NEW YEAR???
I MADE THESE, I purchased the 10” half hexie from MIssouri Star Quilt Co and started cutting them out Saturday night!
This is the Friendship Braid and it goes fast!!!!! I didn’t start sewing until about eight last night.... so fast!! The fabric makes it fun!
I can’t decide if I want a sashing in the middle or if I want to sew them together...won't have to decide that for a while.
You can get the tutorial here
Here are my leader and enders
You are thinking, what in the world is that…..
Yep 28 of them
Diapers for teeny tiny babies. As I was sitting in Church Sunday a gal got up and wrote this blog site on the board
Teeny Tears. This is the larger pattern, I think I only cut out eight of them and the rest are the real small ones. Still needs to be top stitched….
Just wanted to give you an idea of what it looked like. If you are interested, go to their website, they have patterns for gowns, a little dress, etc. Our church is going to be making them later on in the year but hey…nothing says I can’t start now…RIGHT!!!
The Teeny Tears blog makes me sad but I am trying to think of those little ones that actually do survive and can graduate to store diapers.
Then when I tired of those I went on to these
Cut seven of these out Sat. night as well and have had a hankering to get er done!!!
I know…you are going…but Barb, Christmas is over why are you making these???????
Are you NUTZZZZ
The first answer is “Because I want to”
The second answer is “YES”
You can find the tutorial here, hope that works.
So there you have it, that was my New Year’s eve…heard the fireworks go off, hubby was snoring away, netflix was on and I was jumping from project to project.
Have a wonderful New Year!!!
I worked on a new project yesterday. I have two quilts all quilted and only need to sew on the binding. I needed a small break after finishing up the 2nd one before I went back to it. I was watching Dick Clark's Rock n Eve between naps. I took some allergy meds and they make me sleepy.
ReplyDeleteThank you Barb for making these diapers. My son and his fience received some of these when their baby came way too early (one was on her when she was buried). I too have joined in and will soon be making some also.

How times have changed: From "regular" diapers to disposable diapers to homemade diapers. LOL So cute!
ReplyDeleteThe Friendship Braid is so pretty. I took a short look at Teeny Tears. People who can sew for those babies are securing their place in heaven. Happy New Year!
ReplyDeleteWow! You had a productive night. :D LOVE those fabrics in the braid project. I can't believe how tiny those diapers are.
ReplyDeleteOh my, you have been busy! I just got back from seeing Les Miserables with a couple of girlfriends. Very good. Happy New Year!
ReplyDeletea very good way to spend the new year coming in. I couldn't imagine what those little diapers were at first. I am off to read the link.
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year!
I love it!! Netflix and projects!! Way to bring in 2013! Happy New Year, Barb! :)
ReplyDeleteWow, you've been busy. Those tiny diapers are so cute. I'll see if my local children's hospital can use those in their premie area. They certainly look like they'd be fun and fast to make. I'm looking forward to seeing your braid quilt come together. As you are also known as "speedy Barb" you may already have it finished.

Love the braid Barb. I will look at the teeny tears blog.
ReplyDeleteSounds like you had a very productive Newe Year's Eve! Loved seeing your projects!
ReplyDeleteGirl, you on FIRE! Keep up the good work. Happy New Year.
ReplyDeleteGreat projects. I have that half hex ruler and I made two Christmas table runners like yours. I love them both. I gave those away as gifts and have another cut out to finish for me. I've seen a few other projects to do with that ruler and I like yours. It would be a great use of scraps and I know it would go fast since it's so big..I finished up a love quilt right at midnight and it was so nice to relax and do some hand work while seeing in the new year. You had a very productive time and it looks like you had fun doing it. Happy New Year to you and yours.
ReplyDeleteHello again, Barb. Thanks for your kind words about Grandma Vivian's tote bag and the Valentine bears. If you have any ideas (very easy only) that would turn them into St. Patrick's Day bears, please let me know! lol
ReplyDeleteBarb I went to Tiny Tears to find the pattern for the diapers, but couldn't find it. Can you tell me how to find it? I would love to do some for local hospitals here. Thank, Nola
ReplyDeleteMy hubby and I had Lobster Tails and a glass of wine, then went to bed early because we were having our Christmas with our daughter and family next day and I had been shopping and cooking all day. Happy New Year Barb to you and your family. I loved those tiny little diapers, and all of your other products. Blessings Sandra
ReplyDeleteSounds like a perfect New Years Eve.
ReplyDeleteHi Barb, Love your braid and the diapers. Yours is the first blog I've read since early December. Can't wait to see your braid finished--and wouldn't that make a pretty table runner too?
