I was working on this yesterday and this is as far as I got. I should have it done.
I am thinking of replacing that green square down at the bottom in the sashing.
I think there are alot of us out there that have no hankering to sew.
It just isn't in me. I have read four books this week. FOUR!!! when I have other things that I need to do.
I chastise myself for being lazy, no gumption, no motivation, no zeal....no zip....NADA...
My husband was even gone this week and usually when he goes I just squeal through the days and nights......but not this week....no.....I got the case of the lazies.
Even today my husband wants to take me to JoAnn's but this gal doesn't want to go.
AM I DYING?
Do I need a doctor?
My husband just walks around mumbling..."She doesn't want to go to JoAnn's"?
I hope all of you have a fabulous day in your sewing room creating (that means you West Texas Threads.....get in there).
Maybe we need a creative break once in a while and our brain is telling our bodies to do something else so it can rest a bit! Maybe instead of going to Joann's you can go out for a nice lunch. You'll get back in there stitchin' soon enough.
ReplyDeleteLove your Sue quilt! I completely understand the lack of sewing urge. I desperately need to start on twin quilt number 2 if I'm going to get it done before they come visit, but have I started? No. But I've read 3 books, I've sold girl scout cookies, had lunch with friends... I have no idea what it is! Maybe we have Spring Fever!
ReplyDeleteI agree with you on the green square. I've also had a case of the lazies, but I think I finally started coming out of it last week. I hope you get over yours soon.
ReplyDeleteWhat? You don't want to sew????? You don't want to go to JoAnn's????
ReplyDeleteGirl, I am worried about you.
Barb, you are so right. I sat in my sewing room last night looking at patterns and projects, and just did not have enough zest to start something!!! I think we all need an infusion.
ReplyDeleteOh, Barb! I can empathize with you. I don't feel like doing much of anything either. But a trip to JoAnn's? I could go for that! Your Sunbonnet Sue looks great. I think it is the time of year - not enough sunlight that is the problem. At least that is what I'm blaming my non-creativity on. I'm sure you're not dying and you probably don't need a doctor. Go out when the sun is shining and just soak up that vitamin D! Take care.
ReplyDeleteI can't believe your DH "wants" to take you to JoAnn's. Does he have some ulterior motive, like wanting to go to someplace near it? A hardware store, perchance? My DH always sits in the car if we stop there and I have to hurry along, but then get stuck in a long line. I'm sure your ambition will return soon. You probably just needed a little break to regroup! It's OK to rest a while - sometimes I wish I could.
ReplyDeleteHow can you not want to go to Joanns during the coupon commotion week?????
ReplyDeleteThe Sues are so cute, Barb. Hope the mojo returns soon.
I think we all have days where we have lost our sewing mojo. I think those days tend be necessary to refill my creative cup cause when I get back into the groove I am filled with new energy.
ReplyDeleteYour Sues are adorable. I like the different colors you added.
ReplyDeleteNo sewing here either. I also read 4 books this week. Now I'm on book 5. Maybe next week I'll get into the sewing room.
Hubby tried to get me to go to JoAnn's earlier this week and I said nope, not interested. He was shocked too lol. I think we are on the same wavelength this week.
Sun Bonnet Sue is SO, SO cute all gussied up in Modern fabrics! Beautiful job. And give yourself a break, will you? You get more done than anyone I know!

I am so relating to this post - I feel that I just do not want to make any decisions - shopping for fabric, picking out a pattern, pulling fabric from stash. I just wait for it to pass and call it my time off to seek out a book or a piece of embroidery to work on, knowing the desire will return with renewed energy and the decisions will no longer seem like chores. Some days are just a waste of makeup and clean clothes for me and I embrace those days to just putz around. LoL JudyC
ReplyDeleteQuick! Go to the doctor's. You must be sick! ;o)
ReplyDeleteMust be something in the air, not much sewing going on here either. I love your sunbonnet sues, and replacing anything doesn't seem necessary at all!
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful quilt this is going to be. Love your Sunbonnet Sues and your border too. Delightful.
ReplyDeleteI'm impressed you read four books this week. Great way to take a break from quilting.
Relax. You've been extra busy lately, so a break is good. I think you'll mind must be working away on some new design ideas.

ReplyDeleteYou must just need the break to get those creative juices going.
ReplyDeleteI like your sun bonnet sue quilt
ReplyDeleteHey Girl! Those little Sunbonnet Sue's are so sweet...I've always loved them! And don't worry....you have been really busy of late so it's okay to need a rest. I think we all get that way sometimes. I'm just now coming out of my "sewing hibernation", so I know once you have recharged, you'll be fine. Okay, doctor session over - that'll be 5 cents! :o)
ReplyDeleteEnjoy yourself, Barb, and read away!
XOXO,
Cyndi

ReplyDeleteWe all need a break now and then to get those creative juices flowing . Sunbonnet sue is really cute , always did like that pattern .
ReplyDeleteI love Sue! I think your's is adorable. I am not sewing much either but I am using yarn like a crazy woman. Today I'm going to do something that I haven't done in years, I'm going to cross stitch on a top for Chelsi.Your poor husband, I bet he really is concerned. lol Have a great day!!
ReplyDeleteThis is cute.. I love Sun Bonnet Sue's.
ReplyDeleteNow I know why I keep buying more new patterns and fabric---it's to keep me motivated to do some sewing. Really I wish that worked! I, too, think it's the season. Right now things are calling me to go outside and work and play. I've also been doing a lot of reading and once I start a book everything else goes by the wayside. I love your Sunbonnet Sue quilt. For sometime now I have been collecting fabric to make one. Maybe I should focus on that. I know it won't be long til you'll be back sewing up a storm--so enjoy it for now. Nola
ReplyDeleteSO many of us in the funk!! But you know, I think just talking about it helps. I promise I will sew today - thanks for the kick in the butt! Just what I needed!! Love ya Barb!!
ReplyDeleteSunbonnet Sues are so cute.... just wait - your inspiration is getting ready to pounce on you.... just letting you recharge your batteries!

I love Sunbonnet Sue's and this is adorable!
ReplyDeleteBarb, I feel you.... It's raining here and I don't want to do anything but read and nap!!
ReplyDeleteYour husband must think something is really wrong with you! I've not been much for sewing lately either. It'll work itself out. I'm doing some reading as well. I think sometimes it's a good thing to have a case of the lazies!
ReplyDeleteI'm sending you some mojo to help you get motivated.... :-)))
ReplyDeleteThese are very nice.I love Sunbonnet Sue!
ReplyDeleteYour Sunbonnet Sue's are so cute!!!! Definitely take a break if you need one...sewing isn't fun when it feels forced.
ReplyDeleteI went to JoAnns today in your place and got a big bag of goodies. I am in a yarn mood and would really rather do that than sew right now except that I've got pieces of Orca Bay strung all over. Just read and enjoy and that feeling of not wanting to sew will pass in a few days. Take care.
ReplyDeleteYour Suebonnet is adorable. We all have weeks like that.
ReplyDeleteLove your Sues...and you know I went to Joann's TWICE today...I went for the both of us! LOL
ReplyDeleteIt's ok to take a break....but a trip to a quilt store might bring on more motivation! Love the sue quilt.
ReplyDeleteGee Barb I have felt the same way this week. After I finished the binding on the last two quilts I just haven't felt like sewing, cutting pressing etc. I also just want to curl out with book when I have the time and don't fall asleep.
ReplyDeleteYesterday it was below zero and today it is in the 50's do you think that has anything to do with it.?
Love your Sunbonnet Sue, it looks adorable to me. I know your problem is only temporary and you will be back sewing up a storm. Blessings Sandra
How cute!! Always been a fan of SBS and this is quite an updated look. Good for you !!
ReplyDeleteKeep your husband guessing. It is good for him!
ReplyDeleteVery cute Sue blocks! I hope you get your mojo back. A trip to Joann's might be fun just for some spring decorating. I need a spring bunny quilt..
ReplyDeleteCute. I am getting ready to do some sunbonnets.
ReplyDeleteIt's spring fever. I am heading to the woods everyday this week instead of sewing. I should be sewing. But I've been looking up geocaches.
ReplyDeleteYou still are not in my reader. I DO NOT GET IT!!!! I am blogging about it tomorrow. That's it. I had to hit "Follow" again. I've done that once a week for the last month. I wonder who else I am not following that I said I would follow. I don't know as there are so many followers that are new to me and I don't have them straight yet.
I made this sue pattern years ago - I like sue!
ReplyDeleteso cute with these fabrics.
LOL...I doubt you are dieing or anything serious is wrong...sometimes its good to be a human being and not a human doing.
ReplyDeleteSmiles,
Kelly
