FUN FINISHES!!!

Yes, I know Christmas is over.....but look who has a jump on it this year!!! Whohoooooo!!!

I won these designs from Marjorie during Sew Cal's Quilt Show. I say....LUCKY ME!

I know a lot of you think you need to have the go cutter but truly you can do these designs without one, you just don't put the fabric on. You can go here for the designs. Marjorie does such a fantastic job and no she did not pay me to say that!

I finished up the last tree this morning. My husband saw me doing dishes and the machine running.....he just laughed and well....I call it multi tasking.

.I just felt my wall hanging was too big but not big enough for a small quilt....so I took it apart (we all know how fun that is....not smiling here).

This is what I came up with....smiling now!!
.

Friday I went to a friend's house and she showed about three of us how to make Curry Chicken....so I made it tonight.

I dumped so many spices in that chicken that I was worried. David who spent two years in the West Indies said it was not spicy enough. I say

"WHAT"....as I am breaking out in hives....oh yes...scratch city for about thirty minutes.

Was it worth it...yes

will I do it again, yes...

.will I make it spicer...you bet.

I want to see this boy sweat!!!! I have a sister that would love this.

Friday after the class, I came home to a sparkling clean house. My son David did a marvelous job. I was so impressed with him and very grateful because he gave me more play time....and we all know what play time is.....

  1. Can I borrow your son? What a nice surprise. I didn't get any sewing done this weekend. It was my daughter and grandson's birthday (her 45,him 5) can't believe it. Since my daughter still isn't getting around too well I was in charge of decorations (balloons) and cake, (chocolate of course for Jonah. Since Jonah can't see he loves balloons and that was more fun than his birthday present. We still don't have any snow to speak of and that is really weird. I have two quilts in being quilts so maybe I will have something to show that I do really quilt in a couple of weeks. Blessings Sandra

  5. I really like the quilting on your Sweet Tart Heart quilt! Both quilts are adorable. I had to laugh at the picture of you doing dishes while your machine runs.

  6. I have to say that I like the heart quilt as two minis. It showcases the hearts nicely. The trees look great too! I can't handle hot so I make two dishes. A small dish for me and a big pot for Hubby and the kids. Even the dog likes hot stuff so I am always outvoted.

  8. Love your little quilts. I don't understand how you can do the designs without the cutter. When David is finished at Betsy's can he come to my place?

  10. Love your Christmas tree quilt! I like how each tree is decorated differently. Was that machine embroidery? BTW I learned how to hand piece this weekend and am really enjoying it. Opens up the possibility of all those inset diamonds and squares that I had previously avoided. Maybe I'll even break out my free Inklingo pattern that I've had on my computer for 2 years now. lol

    Take care,
    Susan in Texas

    PS Yummo for curry chicken!!!

  13. I love all your creations. Marjorie's designs looks so cute on your projects. Beautiful Christmas trees too.

We love Curry. There are so many variations of flavors & level of heat/flavor. Glad to hear David picked up a taste for such dishes. We certainly enjoy the wonderful flavor and aromas.

  16. Aww, sorry that you had to take apart, but the results are great! Two adorable toppers! Your trees are cute - I need to go check out her patterns...Ya know, I don't think I've ever had curry. Yes, I agree, I am deprived. What spices are in it? Is it mostly red pepper?
