FEEDING MY NEWEST ADDICTION

It seems that you need to keep feeding your embroidery machine bobbins. So I decided to make up a bunch of these. You can buy bobbins already wound but I am cheap!! Plan to fill this bowl up....no one will go hungry in this house.

I have been keeping my embroidery machine humming. I have already honed in on the different sounds this baby makes, when it is out of bobbin or thread breaks...I will probably listen to this puppy in my sleep.

When I venture away from this machine I found that I am listening for it to stop. Maybe I need a baby monitor?

  2. Those are lovely designs - did they come with your machine or from somewhere else? they look great made up as a quilt.

  3. How funny. You have some great patterns too.
I am intimidated by machines. A throwback to my childhood. I love to see what you are making with yours, though.

  5. that's great! you do great work with this machine. I sometimes, long arm while having the embroidery machine going at the same time, I just need some good designs, how thick of a stabilizer do you use in the back? how big can your machine go?

  8. Nice idea to prewind the bobbins Barb. I only have 6 for my machine and they are too expensive to stock up on those.

  11. I need to fill bobbins too. I looked at prewound bobbins, but they are usually just black or white - AND a bit pricey. I put my last full bobbin in the machine two days ago. (haven't sewn much obviously)

  15. Don't laugh...I use the baby monitor for my machine. Are you using bobbin thread? It goes a lot further that the regular sewing threads do. I do use the prewound from Smartneedle and they are fabulous.

  16. That is really a good and economical idea for you to fill up your own bobbins. And I love that little sewing themed quilt you made....sew cute! You are just having a great time with your new toy, and I think that's awesome! Have fun, girl!

  17. I have been winding more bobbins lately; but, I am a pre-wound bobbin believer. I have been know to select a backing based on what color pre-wounds I have on hand.

  18. I wonder when they are going to wise up and make a machine that will take a whole spool of thread in the bobbin, just like the top thread. ?? We can put a man on the moon, but we can't figure out easy and seamless thread supply for a sewing machine... ;-)
