KING SIZED SAMOAN GOODNESS

Do you remember me working on this one?

I think you only saw three rows. Well....the top is almost done...just needs a border. I am going to put a small, black, one inch border, than my most flashy Samoan Fabric, then another 3 inch black border. This top already flows over my king sized bed.

It was too big for the dinning room floor to take a picture. I know what alot of you were thinking...you were thinking it was about time I got my quilts off the floor.....I know....not a great place to put a beautiful quilt but a gal has to do what a gal has to do.

This can all be done with your go cutter.

  1. I wish! I need one. I made sure to post the button for Lily's Quilts Christmas list for quilters. Wishful thinking that hubby will see it on my blog and check it out! Love your quilt. It does get interesting trying to take pictures when they're big!

  16. Oh, Barb, that is breathtaking! I have two questions, now, though. Since I have a king sized bed, and hubby keeps asking "when are you going to make a quilt for our BED?" I need to know which die you used on the cutter? I have a Go Baby now, so inquiring minds want to know! Also, where can I find those lovely fabrics? Is there an online store that carries them? So pretty! OK, I'll shut up now. :)

  23. Love it! So is it a new bedspread for your king bed? It really speaks of the islands and I can't believe you did it all with your Go. I think I'll have to break down and get one after Kaje's wedding. They way I'm going though I'll have to wait until after Travis' wedding but I certainly hope he takes his time when he gets home!! He said the mission president's wife told him that he should know his wife through every season and every day of the year before he proposed to her. Funny, I've told my kids that all their lives but it takes having a mission president's wife say it to him for it to really sink in! Kids, you gotta love 'em!

  27. anything with black it awesome, how are you going to quilt this? I have a Janome 6600 and it is really hard to get a double/queen quilt through it. Maybe you could use this as a wall hanging when done. It must be displayed.
    Wow, that is really big!

  32. I am going to try to leave you another comment. When my name appears in the 'comment as' box it sometimes works. And 32 people have left a comment before me, so why shouldn't it work for me? I just want to say that I absolutely love, love, love your Samoan quilt! It is so bright and cheerful and the black sets those fantastic fabrics off perfectly! Great job, Barb!
