SLICE FABRIQUE FUN!
Those who know me know that I am not one for buying wrapping paper, bags, or cards if I can't get them on sale. So.....I am also known for reusing.
I needed something to put a baby gift in (once again the cheapness in me wins out)....I found this old brown bag.....
Got my slice fabrique out with the card for babies...(looks like I need to add to my card stock different colors, but I just made do with what I had).
and well.....instead of glueing the die cuts on the bag, I just glued them on the ribbon. I thought this added a sepcial touch and took away from the old brown bag look.
For the back, I just did simple with a little message on the heart.....go ahead...call me cheap...I have been called worse.
Not much in the creative front, been visiting old friends and having company.....but I did manage to get this little tote done up for another new young woman.
if you want more information about the slice or slice fabrique go here No...this is not a paid advertisment.....just a new toy and I like to share the fun!

I think this is a great idea Barb...after all, a lot of times wrap is just tossed...but she will keep your heartfelt note for her baby book!!
I think it is a cute and clever idea. Its whats inside that counts.
Looks like you had fun dolling up the 'old brown bag' with your new toy. How cute :)
What fun....something different! You are very clever.
Great idea for wrapping. I like the classic brown bag and you dressed it up very nicely!
LOL.. I am just like you Barb. I reuse and have even just smeared paint on white or brown paper to wrap stuff in. Funny, once or twice the paper was more popular than the gift.
My favorite gift wrap is brown wrap and brown bags; but, then I'm from California and so it goes. :-)
What a clever idea! Nola
That's not cheap it's innovative and I appreciate a gift wrapped that way far more then a bought bag and bow. It makes me feel special that someone took the time to do something special. It is so hot here I haven't been doing much either.
I don't think you're cheap. I think you're thoughtful and resourceful.
Cheap? No way. Lovingly hand made is more like the truth.
How smart are you making your own cute gift bag? Next time I'm out I'm picking up some brown gift bags to decorate as needed. I just love the pink bags you make for your girls.
Now that is my kind of wrapping!
That works great! I am a "low key" wrapper too! I mean really....it goes in the garbage at most homes these days!
You are great. Nothing wrong with recycling. I think it is a great idea.
That's such a clever idea.
Great idea! Love your new toy!!
I think your idea was wonderful!! There is nothing wrong with repurposing things :0)
Enjoy your time with your visitors!!

I am so with you on the bag idea. Most of the time when I need to package up a gift I go to the Dollar Store. I am thrifty as well. Leaves more money for fabric.
How fun to have such a multifunctional new toy! I like the bags that you've done. Not much creativity going on here either but it's been really busy and crazy. Glad things seem to be going so well for you!
Yesterday's cheap is today's upcycling lol. My Grandmother always told me to make do with what you have on hand. You don't always need to run out and buy something. The cost of those gift bags is outrageous. I save all the ones I have been given plus I like to buy a couple each time I go to the Dollar Tree. I love a store where everything is a dollar lol.
I really need to make some bags like yours. They look so cute and I know our great-nieces would love them with their initials.
very cute!
Great idea! You are not cheap! I'd call you innovative and resourceful. Reduce, reuse, recycle. That's what it's all about these days.
The bag is very cute...I am not familiar with these products, will have to look them up. Are they used for scrapbooking?
Cheap? No! Creative? Yes!!
Very cute. I love your idea of having the applique design on the ribbbon. I definitely want to do that. Excellent idea!
