Infact, if you are wanting to do one of these quilts and don't have the die or Go Cutter, you can go to Inchworm Fabrics.
Jeanette is having a giveaway of tumblers cut out of Western Fabrics.
This quilt is 78 1/2" by 65" and was quilted on my Horizon (Janome). This machine makes doing this a breeze. I will confess I had trouble with the tension and had to adjust it. Even took it to the shop to have them take a look at it. Once it got going, there was no stopping us.
This Horizon has a stop and start button.....it takes a little getting use to but oh my goodness....it is awesome when you are trying to quilt....it is almost as good as a stitch regulator, instead of trying to control your foot and hands, you only have to worry about your hands....
Very nice love the colors.
ReplyDeletei use that start/stop button on my 6600 Barb. Love it. Great quilt.
ReplyDeleteGreat tumbler quilt. The fabrics looks peaceful and go together so nicely.
ReplyDeleteThis reminds me why I got the tumbler die for the go cutter - it looks lovely!
ReplyDeleteI like the way you arranged the tumblers on this quilt. It gives it an entirely different look.
ReplyDeleteLove it!!

I love the colors! I'm so glad to hear the Horizon is working well.
ReplyDeleteGee Whilikers! I never thought of using the start/stop button for free motion quilting. Maybe I should try that. My Babylock has that button also.
ReplyDeleteI love this quilt...the colors are wonderful! What a great tip about the stop/start button too...I'm going to have to try that!
ReplyDeleteLookin' good, Barb! Great colours. I 'test drove' a Horizon at the Creative Festival a couple of months ago. I loved it, but decided to give my old machine one last chance. Now I am tempted to buy a new machine in the fall.
ReplyDeleteVery pretty summer quilt!
ReplyDeleteIt looks great Barb. I am going to buy the 3.5 inch tumbler die to make one too.
ReplyDeleteI so love using my start and stop button. It is great for my crazy quilting blocks.
I love the way you matched the tops and bottoms of the tumbler faabrics. Looks like a totally different design.
ReplyDeleteI've been thinking of trying out the Horizon -- the extra throat space would really make machine quilting easier.
I love those colors...what a terrific quilt!!
ReplyDeleteYou got so much done! Congratulations!
ReplyDeleteI love how you matched the tumblers. This quilt is on my list to do, I am saving all my scraps (I used to give them away).
ReplyDeleteThe quilting is fabulous! I have yet to try any machine quilting beyond straight lines and wide curves. Very pretty quilt.
ReplyDeleteI love your quilt and the colors you used. I have the tumbler die but haven't used it yet. You are inspiring me.
ReplyDeleteI love this quilt , great color combination ! I never thought about using the start and stop button , thanks for that tip I can see that would be extra helpful!
ReplyDeleteThis looks great Barb! Is it the big tumbler or the little one? I have the big one but haven't tried it yet. I was waiting to see what it would look like before I tried it!
ReplyDeleteYour tumbler quilt looks fab Barb :) Hugs Vicki
ReplyDeleteVery pretty Tumbler quilt! I like your color choices.
ReplyDeleteYour quilt is lovely Barb. I keep thinking I should invest in an go aquilter but then I decide the dies are so expensive, one of these days I will decide. I have an Elna and it has a stop and go button and you can regulate speed and I use it all the time, it has been a life saver for me because I have a lot of hip and back pain and now I can sew a lot longer. Hugs and blessings Sandra
ReplyDeleteGreat tumbler quilt. Also love your colours you must be happy with that ?????
ReplyDeletelove the colors and how you set this tumble!
ReplyDeleteLove the colors. I want to do a tumbler quilt sometime too. So cute!
ReplyDeleteI love the colors too! Very nice!
ReplyDeleteI love this quilt! Your layout is so cool...it doesn't even look like a tumbler quilt at first glance. And the colours are yummy!
ReplyDeleteTumblers are a fun shape, huh! Good finish, Barb ~

Beautiful quilt. Love the tumbler, but your fabrics and colors just really make this design stand out. Great job. And I'm very happy to hear your Janome is sewing up a storm, keeping up with you and not causing problems. Not fun sewing when our machines don't humm as expected.

Wonderful quilt! My machine has an start/stop button but I haven't tried it out yet. I'm a bit nervous because I like the control the foot pedal gives me.
