THE PITFALLS OF BLOGGING!!!!

Someone has to tell it like it is....and I guess that someone is me.

Pitfall #1

When going to a blog be very careful, tell yourself you have enough projects or you will fall into that endless pit of wanting to do too many things and never get anything done.

Example #1

You see this basket? Of Course you do! Well...I saw this over at Jane's Fabric and Quilts. It is suppose to be a stitchery, you can check hers out by clicking on her name. The actual design is by Madame Samm.

Well....I just loved the strawberries and I stewed over it for days....and then saw it again and decided to do a stitchery...but when I got the actual design I thought it would be amazing in applique. So....Off I went on another tangent.....

I do not like the fabric I chose for the ribbon, it has black lines in it and conflicts with the black blanket stitching...thinking of taking it out.

Pitfall #2

When going to blogs...tell yourself that you have enough toys and tools of the trade, you do not need one more thing....tell yourself NO! NO! NO! NO more!

Example #2

I saw this while visiting Madame Samm via Quilt Taffy.
Quilt Taffy is another one of those blogs that I just love to visit but....I should have seen it coming....a TRAP!!! Oh yes, when she said to visit Madame Samm...I should have just said NO! But I went here.

Corrie did a wonderful tutorial on using this glue....and well...I just couldn't help myself. I ordered two bottles. I will have to confess, I just love this glue and I think it will make my binding quilts so much easier as well.

The moral of this story......BEWARE!!!! HIDE the CREDIT CARD......FORGET your PAYPAL code......I am just warning all of you...don't go blaming me!!

Disclamier: This is not a paid advertisement for Madame Samm, Quilt Taffy, Jane Fabrics, just lots of creativity wrapped up in a fun time!

  2. Barb, I saw the basket of Strawberries and love it too, now I want that pattern. I tried to order that same glue from Quilt Taffy and they were out, of course I needed it now and marched right over to my scrapbook store and found it. Yippy! So don't feel bad because you aren't the only one to fall in to those pitfalls.. Just think of it as your little stimulus to this horrible economy.

  3. Again you make me giggle. Maybe it is because I can relate. Blogs should have a Warning sign attached. Love your applique. I really like the fabric you chose. Let me know what you think of that glue.

  5. I saw both of those. I love your basket in applique. Great idea! I really need to order some of that glue. Corrie seemed to highly approve of it.

  16. I have the same problem. I get in trouble a lot! But I'm grateful for people like you who post about a product or project -- otherwise, I'd probably never know about it. :-)

  17. Blogging is addictive - sometimes I feel the need to stand up and say "I am a blogger" kind of like "I am a alcoholic" or whatever. I never made so many quilts and things at one time until after I became a blogger and started to look at so many sites -- the ideas just come in leaps and bounds with no end in sight!!

  24. Oh Barb, tell it like it is! There are days I can't even turn the computer -on- becuase I know it will end with some shopping, new patterns and new blog lists! Where do we find the time to quilt??

  26. You're so right. Blogs should come with a warning that says "this blog has addivtive ideas and can damage your credit card"

  28. You are too funny, but so right! I tend to check blogs on my lunch break at work rather then home just to prevent these urges of buying every little ruler and glue and what ever other nick knack I see on everyones posts!
