I HAVE BEEN JINXED!!!

I WAS working on this panel that Inchworm Fabrics (my sister Jeanette sent me). I just loved it so I decided to make a wall hanging out of it. Not that I don't already have a million things in the works.

Recently, on a blog (sorry, forgot which one) a fellow blogger sewed through her finger. I thought to myself that I have come close to sewing through my finger before but not quite.....

Well...................................... here we go... I have been jinxed. I jerked my finger out so the needle did not go all the way through but it went deep and ripped through my finger nail.

OUCH!!!!!

It hurt so bad that the finger next to it was having sympathy pains .....

Poor Barb.....

So that being said....the winner of the Memorial Giveaway is #104..don't you just love the random generator? I sure do...

Erzebat, "A Redneck Dingbat quilter"

She lives here in Virginia...whohooooo but I thought Rednecks were only in Texas...I gotta have a chat with this gal to see what makes her a redneck! What is up with the Dingbat? I thought I only had that name....the way I forget things and sew my finger up? Yep...she must be kin to me....

I am going to go and nurse my finger....have a safe sewing day.

  7. Oh! {silence....I think I passed out at the sight of blood}. Owie. Kiss, kiss.

Be careful. You don't want any blood on that beautiful quilt.

A fellow student, at my retreat last week, sewed over her finger so hard it pulled the needle out of the machine and someone had to pull the needle out of her finger.

    Please be more careful.

  12. YIKES!! Oh Barb that just is nasty! My son sewed through his finger a while back and I posted about that too. His went all the way through the middle of his finger and bent the needle on the way down, then he jumped with the needle in there and broke a foot off the machine! I have definitely seen this pain in action! I hope that you take good care of the owie and are better soon.
    Big Hugs.

  13. Oh, Barb, it may have been someone else, too, but it was me recently. I feel your pain!

Here's hoping you are recovering quickly and didn't bleed on the quilt, or at least not too much.

  22. Ouch! I sewed through my finger when I was in a sewing class back in middle school. Hopefully that one time is enough and I can avoid doing it again. I have sewn my quilting gloves into a quilt a couple times. Luckily, it was just the glove and not my finger.

  23. Ouch! I did that once and know how you feel. You made sure that no needle was left in your finger, didn't you?
