ORANGE SLICE

Here is my Orange Slice flimsy...... I didn't have enough orange fabric to go all the way across the top so I did white with butterflies in the corners...one is not going in the right directions (will have to fix)..... I also added another row on the bottom.....don't ya just looooovvvvveeee it???

My Horizon is ready....don't know how much it will cost me......I am afraid, very afraid....will someone come and hold my hand....stick up for me..... I was gone when they called....

  9. I love it. Another quilting store is going out of business and they are having a huge sale over the next month. I never use orange, however if I can find some that is marked down 80% I just might buy some and make a quilt with it. Hugs

  15. Orange is one of my favorite colors so it's fun to see it made up in a quilt. I think the butterflies really add to the quilt too and they're such a fun addition! I hope the Horizon is not a costly repair for you. It seems kind of crazy that it should break like that after such a short amount of time. Let us know how it turns out.

  21. I thought the original orange slice looked great but when you added the border it brought it up a couple levels. Now it looks amazing and complete. I love adding a final border to make a quilt feel finished.

I would hold your hand when you pick up your machine but I'm just as scared to find out the final cost and it's not even my machine lol. Fingers crossed all work was considered to be under warranty.

  26. Yes, I do love it, just the way it is. That means I wouldn't fix the butterfly at all. I think it adds to the charm of this quilt!

  30. Barb, It is just gorgeous! I agree with the comment that you should leave the "straying" butterfly...it's just so cute. Love, love the orange. I am collecting oranges to make a quilt, myself. I was going to do all different traditional blocks, but this is inspiring - maybe an orange slice is in my future!

  32. Orange Slice is a really good name for your quilt. You solved the problem of not having enough of the orange by adding in another fabric. You have to be creative in making quilts sometimes.
