Here is my
Orange Slice flimsy...... I didn't have enough
orange fabric to go all the way across the top so I did white with butterflies in the corners...one is not going in the right directions (will have to fix)..... I also added another row on the bottom.....don't ya just looooovvvvveeee it???
My Horizon is ready....don't know how much it will cost me......I am afraid, very afraid....will someone come and hold my hand....stick up for me..... I was gone when they called....
I just love the orange. Not a color seen often in quilts but it is so bright and beautiful.

I do love your orange quilt. I like liberated and wonky but there is always something special about orderly!! Good luck with your machine.
ReplyDeleteI love it. Another quilting store is going out of business and they are having a huge sale over the next month. I never use orange, however if I can find some that is marked down 80% I just might buy some and make a quilt with it. Hugs
ReplyDeleteI love your orange slice quilt. For some reason it makes me think of Christmas. I guess because growing up, that is when we got orange slice candy.
ReplyDeleteBarb, I love how you have made this quilt . I struggle with putting blocks in the corner of borders like that but yours looks so beautiful. Good luck picking up your machine today.
ReplyDeleteI love bright color quilts! Have your son that returned your machine to the sellor go pick up the Horizon. That should make ya'll even. lol
ReplyDeleteOh Barb, you know how I feel about orange! I actually still have a bit that peeks out now and then begging to be used. I love this quilt, it's very cheery!
ReplyDeleteI do love it! It's a wonderful quilt, I loved it before you put the border on it and now I love it more.
ReplyDeleteI hope picking up your machine doesn't hurt!
Orange is one of my favorite colors so it's fun to see it made up in a quilt. I think the butterflies really add to the quilt too and they're such a fun addition! I hope the Horizon is not a costly repair for you. It seems kind of crazy that it should break like that after such a short amount of time. Let us know how it turns out.
ReplyDeletewhat a great orange quilt!
ReplyDeletevery fun
I love this quilt. Good idea on the corners. Really cute! Love the color orange!!
ReplyDeleteThat is SEW beautiful. Hmm...I wonder how many orange scraps I have laying around???

I thought the original orange slice looked great but when you added the border it brought it up a couple levels. Now it looks amazing and complete. I love adding a final border to make a quilt feel finished.
ReplyDeleteI would hold your hand when you pick up your machine but I'm just as scared to find out the final cost and it's not even my machine lol. Fingers crossed all work was considered to be under warranty.
Barb, this is beautiful, bright and cheerful. Love the orange.. yesteday at the fabric shop I saw the cutest orange fabric but was in a hurry and didn't get it, now wishing I would have... have a good weekend.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous!
ReplyDeleteOh Barb....it looks gorgeous!!!
ReplyDeleteLove the quilt and the butterfly cornerstones give it that extra special spark that makes it yours. Great job!
ReplyDeleteIt's gorgeous, Barb! I haven't always liked orange, but lately it's beginning to grow on me. And seeing your wonderful quilt is making me want to go out and buy more orange fabrics! (Can I tell my husband it's all your fault?)
ReplyDeleteOhhhhhhhh I love it!!!You did a beautiful job as always, have a great day!
ReplyDeleteSharlene
It's beautiful!! :0)
ReplyDeleteYes, I do love it, just the way it is. That means I wouldn't fix the butterfly at all. I think it adds to the charm of this quilt!
ReplyDeleteI love it! I never really used orange till Pat Sloan had an orange challenge a couple of years ago. Now I love adding it.
ReplyDeleteHey Barb. love the orange and the butterflies too. Going away for a while and hopefully the construction will be nearer completion, can't even find the machines now. So happy you have your boys home for a visit. Take care. Hugs, Marie
ReplyDeleteI really like your quilt Barb :) The orange is pretty and the butterflies in the corners are a lovely touch :)
ReplyDeleteBarb, It is just gorgeous! I agree with the comment that you should leave the "straying" butterfly...it's just so cute. Love, love the orange. I am collecting oranges to make a quilt, myself. I was going to do all different traditional blocks, but this is inspiring - maybe an orange slice is in my future!

Love it. good luck with the horizon.
ReplyDeleteOrange Slice is a really good name for your quilt. You solved the problem of not having enough of the orange by adding in another fabric. You have to be creative in making quilts sometimes.
