BLANKET STITCHING IS THE ORDER OF THE WEEK

Blanket stitching is basically all I have been doing this week besides cutting scraps and even then I gave up on the scraps.

So here is another "Be Attitudes" block.

Then I just could not help myself, I just love these frogs (from quilt in previous post) and so I had to put it on one of the towels my sister sent.

Nothing planned for today.....it seems the blanket stitch has become my filler when I don't feel like doing much....

Have a wonderful week-end, I so enjoyed your comments on threads.

By the way, I decided not to use stabilizer on these blocks. Maybe if I was doing a show piece I would but not for something such as this. I find it works just fine wihtout it....or just call me lazy...

.but I am happy and today it is all about me!! If momma is happy, we all are happy!"

  2. I gave up on hand doing blanket stitch. I use my machine other wise I'd do nothing with that stitch. Bad for me, as hand stitched does look so nice with those tiny variations.

  4. I love blanket stitch, doing it by hand (especially on felted wool - yum) and by machine. My old Bernina has a triple blanket stitch that looks handmade that I LOVE using. Your blanket stitches are exquisite, of course!

    Happy stitching,

  7. Glad to hear you are so happy! I love to use the button hole stitch when I am stitching by hand. I need lots more practice doing it with the sewing machine though.

  9. Barb, as long as it doesn't scush up, who needs stabilizer.

  16. Great work, Barb. I call myself a dyslexic blanket stitcher because my stitches always point in the opposite direction. Think I may need more practice!

  18. I think the blanket stitch is so pretty yet traditional. Your block is very nice is it one from Art to Heart? Looked like her style. The frog is super cute.
