Don't laugh, in Samoa I had to beat the ants away and sometimes a flick of the finger or just go ahead and eat the sucker....
Now if you knew me growing up and as an adult, you would know that I hate bugs of any form (ask my family)....and for me to just eat an ant without the bat of an eye....
listen,
nothing is going to come between me and my food..
Another amazing thing. Did you know that the mail person actually brings your packages to your door....or is it just me?
I must be so important for that to happen (snickering).
No mail service in Amerika Samoa...had to go to the post office about a 30 minute drive to get our mail.
Nothing happening in the sewing room today except cleaning....
Of course you are special is why the mail is delivered to your door. Bugs are not allowed in my apt.EWWWWWWWWW
ReplyDeleteYou are so funny! Hey, I just noticed....congratulations on being chosen as one of the top 50 blogs!
ReplyDeleteI'm not loooookkkking ;-)
ReplyDeletehehe - Thanks for the chuckle :D Reorganizing to make a new free-motion work station, so no sewing here today, either. ::sigh::

Culture shock is hitting you ! I used to live in Colombia, S. America, so I know about bugs. Yes, you do get used to them, but not the biggest cockroaches! Yuk!! We really have life a lot easier here. I hope we're not too spoiled for the coming days.
ReplyDeleteI know what you mean with the ants; when I visit my mom in Florida it's the same thing! I would have to change my whole way of living not to use my counters littered with food and keep food out...there's fudge and hotdog buns out there as I speak. I'm sure I'd have roaches here too if it wasn't just too cold! Lots of crumbs on the floors..although I vacuumed today :P .
ReplyDeleteI like my to the door service too...it's the highlight of some days :) Have a great evening with your group!
Giggles galore here! Welcome back to the mainland where bugs stay outside & mail is delivered!
ReplyDeleteSounds like you are adjusting very well Barb :-)
ReplyDeletecleaning is good....laughed at your post today
ReplyDeleteTHEY LOOK YUMMY.
ReplyDeleteSo, you miss the weather, but get to trade that for no bugs. Oh my, I can always put on a sweater but hate digging insects out of my lunch.
ReplyDeletePriorities and perspective huh? :o)
ReplyDeleteI know for certain if an ant climbed onto a TimTam I'd eat the ant too....you are not alone :)
ReplyDeleteI'm happy you are enjoying the perks of living on the "big island"....:P)

The muffins look tasty...especially without the ants.
ReplyDeleteI know it's must be a huge adjustment going from the warm sunshine to the bitter cold. One thing we can always count on you for is seeing the positives in everything. You're such a good example for us!
ReplyDeleteI guess maybe you never learned the big roasting pan of water with an upside down bowl in it & a plate on top of the bowl! We have the same problem in Hawaii sometimes, especially after it's been raining & the ants run in for refuge! But the mailman does come to the door!
ReplyDeleteOK ewwwwwwww! eating ants I can't think of it without it making me say ewwwwwww!
ReplyDeleteWhat time is the meeting? Yummmm!!! Welcome to the mainlands, sometimes things are taken for granted and we need to be reminded.
ReplyDeleteThere are advantages to the colder climate. It sounds like it was a great day - baking and cleaning.
ReplyDeleteI can almost smell your baking.
ReplyDeleteAs for being important, of course you are. Heyy, do you think the person who brings your post right to your door spends the rest of his/her day patrolling to make sure no ants try to get in?
The muffins look too nice to share with ants !
ReplyDeleteOOO new springy layout!!
ReplyDeleteMan, how could you stand waiting for quilty things to come...now you are so spoiled!! :)
I hope you and the Young Women had a nice evening!
That's just yum and yuck all at the same time! Hope you had a good time with the ladies!
ReplyDeleteAwesome..no ants...yet...;-)
ReplyDeleteBring some of them there muffins on down here gal!
This mall carrier we have now is a nut! I can get huffy at him every now and again! Yes I know ..a shock that I admit to being huffy at all... hahaha!
Enjoy the fringe benefits of being in VA!
Hugs,
Lola
Not a dang thing in this world which would let me eat a bug!! LOL

Do I detect just a hint of "winter isn't ALL bad" in that ant comment? Hehe!
