Towel Gift Sets Galore

Guest post written by: Krista Corry

Hello all in the blogging world! I think Barb has asked me to write a post in order for me to try out blogging for myself. She and others and told me to start a blog but I have been a bit apprehensive. So here goes my first post ever.

I have been so fortunate to have Barb teach me quilting. She has posted a few pictures of projects she has helped me with. With her help I have caught the quilting bug. It doesn't hurt that we have so much fun and I end up with something cute too.

Well, earlier this year Barb and I joined a towel swap. In the process of making my towels I purchased a bunch of different kitchen towels trying to find the right one. When my towels went out I ended up with a few (13) extra towels! Now what? Well, Barb suggested that I do some towels and pot holders. Ha! Little does she know with the suggestion comes a lesson. Yep, she had a lesson on how to make pot holders.

So, I have been busy making towel sets. Here is one set I made with Barb's Turtle pattern.
Then I tried two different patterns I cut from my Cricut. You can see I didn't match the green exactly but I still like it.

I have at least 6 more pot holders to make to finish off the other towels I already have completed. Fun, fun! I am almost done! And now I am debating if I should make a matching apron as well. Hmmmm.

This just goes to show what a great teacher can do for you. I am so lucky to have had Barb here to teach me so many great things. Thanks Barb for sharing your talent with me.

Well, hope you like my first post ever!!! Have a great week everyone.

  6. Welcome to blogging- I hope you will decide to take it up- I have been blogging over two years now and enjoyed meeting bloggers and quilters from all over the globe.
The quilting community is full of quilters who are willing to help. I can see you were a keen student who was inspired by a wonderful lady and teacher. It is great when that happens-
I love your towels- Thanks for sharing.
Regards from a Western Canadian quilter,

  22. Krista,

I think you are a natural quilter and blogger too! Great post. Inspirational. I now want to make some dishtowels and matching hotpads like yours. Love each set! If you are good about wearing aprons, I'd definitely make one to match these cute sets. I do love aprons, but I tend to forget to put one on in the rare times I'm cooking.

I just put a batch of pumpkin bread in the oven and guess I should have worn an apron. Darn!
