Here is my version.....my retreat giftie....
Made this quilt top from literally scraps.....the sea print was from the pillowcases I made, and the purples are from the scraps I cut up on Camp day one. The border is material I purchased today.
Finished this top...boy, I wish I had one more row. The red print was left over material from the pillowcases, the red alphabet was fabric my sister sent, just enough fror 12 squares. Oh well...
Went fabric shopping today....hit up one store....look at this fabric...oh my and this is quality fabric.
Can you believe that I got 18 yards of fabric for 23 dollars, now that was a steal.....and it would have been if I had kept it to myself...she undercharged me, I would have gotten 10 yards of fabric free.....do I regret going back? No.....there was not even a decision to make on this one.
More Zips...... Glad you had a great time at your retreat, next time maybe we could all drop by for a sew in too.

ReplyDeleteWhat a fun shopping trip! Love the fabrics, but the zippers were really a great deal too! :-)
ReplyDeleteHow great to get such good buys on things at the shops there. I recall when those appliques used to be found in all the stores here....and now it's hard to find them at all. Glad you had a successful shopping day.
ReplyDeleteWhat lovely appliques and only 25 cents now thats a good deal. And you have more zippers. Well you did need to replace the ones that you used for the purse you made. LOL I loved your my retreat giftie that you made. Did you teach the ladies how to do them. What I was also thinking of is doing pot holders with 1 1/2 in squares 5 by 5 and putting a row on a tea towel. One of the blogger had one on her blog but I can not remember what one. I'm making them with fall and Xmas colors but I'm sure they would look great with the material that you get there.
ReplyDeleteThe little friend looks so happy and she has them all sold how wonderful for her. Your doing a graet job.
Awesome fabric! I'm curious to see the hair band closures.
