THE AGE OLD QUESTION, "CAN A PERSON HAVE TOO MUCH FABRIC?"

Obviously not because here is some more fabric I just received from Connecting Threads. Some is for backing quilts.

THIMBLEBERRIES SEW DAY!

This is what I am working on, I didn't put any batting in it. I like how my friend Jean has done her runners and wall hangings, with no batting. So now I am quiting it.

This is called the Oak Leaf Basket by Thimbleberries. I used the fabrics from Inchworm Fabric's Store.

Go bon's blogy And sew , she did Thimbleberries Sew day today as well.

Here is the drawstring backpack bag that one of the gals wanted to learn to sew. So this is our tomorrow's project. This bad is in the "Quick Quilts" magazine, summer 2010 issue. I did change it up some and well..next time I will put a pocket on it.

Then a wonderful friend sent me a drawstring purse, so I had to try it and of course, changed it up a bit too. This is actually too big for me but thought it would be good for a spa bag or gift bag.
Hope the ladies like them.

As for Connecting Threads, I wish I could buy from them, but they won't ship to the UK. Boohoo.

  3. The bags look fun!

Your basket quilt looks great! I love how the leaves are floating around. I'm working on a quilt that will have no batting since it will be a tablecloth. I wasn't sure how I was going to like the "feel" of the tablecloth but I actually like it. Not bumpy like I thought it would be.

  4. Cute bags! No batting in wall hangins or table runners. I might just try that. I've never made a table runner because I thought it would be too bumpy.

  7. Don't you just love making bags? You get something you can use in a short time. And I love backpacks, too. I recently did a little makeup bag with a zipper--my first time to do that--but I'm not ready to show it. I need to get that zipper thing down pat before I do.

    Have fun sewing today!

  13. When you outgrow storage space, it is too much. Of course, "storage space" can be loosely defined. :)

  19. Beautiful work my dear. I make a lot of what I call "summer quilts" without putting the batting inside. That's why I call them "summer quilts". Just the top and backing. That's it. Thank you for sharing.
    Happy Quilting.

  20. Too much fabric? Never!
I love your bags. I have wanted to make myself a backpack so that I can carry more when I ride my scooter. You are doing a wonderful job teaching the 3 gals how to quilt.
