WHAT DOES AN EMAIL AND QUILT HAVE TO DO WITH EACH OTHER?

Earlier last week I got an email from a quilter named Karen. She had just designed a quilt(you can see her version of it if you click on quilt), she asked if I would be her pattern tester.

Anything to help a fellow quilter out and so this is what I came up with...

Isn't she a beaut!!

It is made with half a turnover. It took me about 6 hours to finish this puppy!

It was fast, fun, and her directions easy to understand. I will say that it would not have taken me as long but....

Mr. Pfaff was not playing nice....how dare he!! I think he knew...

yep, he figured out that I was unfaithful while gone to Texas. He also figured out that Mr. Daddy Pfaff is waiting in the wings if he doesn't behave.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
About a week since I wrote this post (waiting for Karent to tell me when I could post)

You know, we are always willing to blame someone else .....and poor Mr. Pfaff got the blame for the frustration I was having stippling this quilt. My sister told me the other day that I was putting my bobbin in wrong ( must have been that other barb that has been eating all the ice cream)....DUHHHHHHH. I have since used the machine and am having ZERO troubles..... Sorry Mr. Pfaff....I will make it up to you....

I will take Daddy Pfaff out of the room.

Remember the flower pot quilt and the palm leaves quilts...my friend has the patterns ready, we are just tweeking it a bit and it will be here soon...ypeeee!!

  4. That's a beautiful little quilt.
Wouldn't it be nice if the bobbin just wouldn't go into the machine if we were trying to put it in the wrong direction?

  5. How dare you tempt me with those flower pot quilts! How dare you. I do not need another quilting project, I already have way more than I can do and another one I am waiting for payday to buy. Don't tempt me with those flower pots!

  8. Love it Barb and the colours are really fresh and pretty :) I have been having problems with my sewing machine and discovered I didnt screw down the plate that goes over the bobbin tight enough after I undid it to clean out all the fluff in the bobbin. Gotta screw those screws down tight! hugs Vicki

  10. Very cute quilt. Love the design and colors. Very curious how "turnovers" are cut to make this quilt. Would never had thought this quilt was designed to use turnovers. Interesting.

Mr. Pfaff definitely misses you. Probably feels a little stiff, having been left in a dark place and not able to play for such a long time. Hope he gets his grove (stitch) back soon. Maybe an oil cocktail will help him be happy you are back!

  14. This quilt is just lovely!

I've never put the bobbin in backwards but I have "yelled" at my machine only to discover that I had to clean the bobbin area! Me bad!!

  16. Ha ha.. I have put the bobbin in backwards and it just doesn't work at all! And like Miri, I have fussed only to find out that the bobbin area REALLY needed cleaned.

  20. What a wonderful quilt! I love the brightness and green border. It looks very fresh and crisp.

It's the little things with sewing machines. All that frustration and a simple fix of putting in the bobbin differently. Love simple fixes.

  21. What a cheerful quilt! The white offsets the pretty brights in a great way! A winner!

  22. Love the quilt, so nice and bright/happy colors. Love quilts that can be made quickly from pre cuts. So funny that you threaten Mr Pfaff with his back up. Mine stay in the same room and one smirks at the other cause he is in the cabinet at the time. Who knows what they do when I'm away?
