SO I AM NOT BEING A TOTAL BUM!!

I made this Master's Graduation hood, never made one, never saw one up close but this is what the gal wanted. We can only hope!!



Next, I saw this quilt pattern....


In this quilt magazine.



Mine is made with six fat quarters and about 1 1/2 yards of white fabric. Mine is not as big as theirs and I have repeating patterns....but I love it.



I firmly believe that a person can make this quilt in a day. It took no time at all to do the strips. I just didn't have enough white fabric so I had to wait. Now to stipple it. Do I want to bend down on the floor and pin this puppy? Or do I want to wait until I get home?



These old bones just hate getting on all fours to pin a quilt....the creeking and popping that goes on....I make more noise than an unoiled screen door.

    LOL....I know the feeling!!!!!! I love the quilt - very clean and crisp!!!

    A graduation hood? Never heard of or seen one before. Very interesting.

    I have the same magazine and have been thinking about doing it in some Kaffe fabrics that I have. I love the colors you chose.

    I love your version! It is so fresh and spring like.

    I don't think I could pin on the floor. UGH!! I vote you wait till you get home. LOL! I use the tables at the local quilt shop. Maybe there is a quilt shop by you that will let you use their table.

    I don't know what that hood is all about, but it looks very nicely done! And I like your quilt, too. I'm thinking, though that a flimsy will be easier to transport than a full out quilt.

    What is a master's graduation hood used for? Oh that magazine is bad news it will put more creative ideas in a quilter's head than they will ever be able to make. ;)

    And there you go again - making us all look bad. A quilt top in a day? Not in any day I've ever lived haha. It's so pretty, Barb. I love it!

    Just the thought of kneeling down to pin a quilt makes me creak. There has to be an easier way.

    Love your quilt and I can't get on the floor no more, my screen door would fall off the hinges. I put it on my cutting table now to pin.

    Your quilt looks great! I love all the different variations on stacked coin quilts. They are fun to make plus a good way to use up bits of fabric...or a good reason to go out and buy more fabric lol.

    I say take the top home with you. If you are just making for the thrill of making a quilt and it isn't for anyone in particular, then there is no hurry. Plus, now you can use the time to make another quilt top and no creaky bones.

    I think the wavy stripe pieces make this quilt, It,s lovely .
    Re,. getting up off the floor ,oh boy ! you should see me , I had a knee replacment just over 2 yrs,. ago . It is fantastic , I walk as normal after not being abe to walk at all due to arthritis , but I wouldn,t kneel on it so can you imagine trying to get off the floor--cottonreel

    Oh oh oh! I recognize two of the fabrics in your quilt! My buddy, Virginia, used both of them as sails in the group sailboat quilts we made. Here's the one with the black dots with the big orange dot - it's on the right side in the middle row:

    The wavy stripes fabric looks mighty familiar too, though perhaps a different color way? Anyway, it ended up on the other sailboat quilt so I can't be sure. Love that fabric and your quilt. 8)

    Lovely quilt and so quick too! I have never been able to make a quilt in a day. As for pinning on the floor...I'd never be able to get back up. What is the graduation hood for?

    Barb, you're quilt is lovely, especially with the gorgeous colors and fabrics you chose to use. As far as getting on the floor to pin baste goes...I do it but view it as a very strenuous workout! lol
