Last night I put the border on....I love the brown in there, I know you can't see but there is brown in this quilt and well...I just love it. I wanted a wider border but that is all the material I had of the blue. So....I am thinking of putting another small brown border with the next lighter color from the quilt next to that? What do you think?
Oh....I told Sew Cal Gal and a few others that I sewed the snow ball blocks while waiting for some of the blogs to come up.....sometimes a few of them take a little longer to load (sometimes I will read between blogs). This made the task of doing the same thing over and over easier and it went really quick. And no, I didn't drop everything when the blog loaded, I just kept sewing some and then would go and look. Also took away from the frustration of waiting for the blog to load.....
What do you think of this potholder now? More vintage fabric (I have alot of brown vintage fabric from the 70's). I just love it!!
Love the snowballs in Samoa alot more than the foot of real snow here in Utah! Thanks for sharing...
ReplyDeleteI think another brown border would look really good........love the potholder too, it is so cute and so retro.....melinda
ReplyDeleteThese green snowballs are a soothing color. Did you say your favorite color is green? I like this green teapot potholder, too. I have a dear friend who loves teapots (& so do I) and she would love this. Do you know the name of the pattern?
ReplyDeleteThe brown on the potholder looks fantastic!
ReplyDeleteHow could we get sick of seeing that pretty quilt???? I think your idea of how to add more borders is a good one...so you can get it to the size you want.
ReplyDeleteI love that potholder. I'd like to come across from feed sacks, or flour sugar sacks. I love those.
ReplyDeleteYou sure are making short work of the snowball quilt! It's looking great! I love the potholder too!
ReplyDeleteOh yes, Barb...I like the brown addition. How big will it finish?
ReplyDeleteThe brown border looks great!
ReplyDeleteI love the quilt (still) and probably will with or without the extra border.
ReplyDeleteThe potholder is just adorable. :)
I love your snowball quilt. I've always wanted to make one but just wasn't brave enough. The potholder is too cute to be a potholder.
ReplyDeleteOh, Barb! I love the dots in the vintage brown with the checkerboard in the background print on your potholder. Perfect!!!!
ReplyDeleteI can't believe how fast you've "plowed" through those snowball blocks. I love that green. I think it looks fantastic!
ReplyDeleteI agree, another brown then light border would look wonderful. Amazing what a body can get done while waiting for blogs to load...I did a batch of dishes and put a load of clothes in the dryer while waiting for yours LOL.
ReplyDeleteCrispy
I love the potholder...with both bindings but the black is really nice!
ReplyDeleteGreat to see all the progress on your Snowball quilt...I'll be teaching the snowball block in my beginners class next week-I love it because its so versatile. Love it with your 9 patch blocks!
This teapot is adorable!
