MAIL, MOUNTAIN AND POUCH

I spent what little time I had yesterday making these pouches for the pattern I made. I tried to get those plastic ziplock bags but because of where I live they would not send or the mailing was too high(we have US shipping rates, they don't know that)...so I gave up and just decided to do this for now.

Then I got all these books in the mail...they were 3 - 4 dollars, the most expensive part was the shipping www.daedalusbooks.com

Then we hit that mountain again...determined to make it to the finish!

We walked past where we left off......and walked up hill, down hill, slid sidways...yes..it did rain some on the way to the end.

Got to a point where you would go to one side of the mountain ridge and you would see Pago harbour and then to the other side and see the back of the Coxcomb (no pictures)

At one point we were literally going straight up...okay not straight but that was an amazing incline....but still not there yet...

We finally made it....yepeeeeeeee Then came the down pour.....we were soaked from head to foot...Took us four hours total....but...was too sore to post last night....can barely stand for long lengths of time right now...but oh...it feels ooooohhhhh sooo good!!!

  10. Say I would be so sore after that climb. you know that it is so cold here in San antonio and we almost had some snow. I still have a box I am filling every 2 or 3 days for all of you so will send it after the holidays.

  13. Barb, I tried 3 times to post on this yesterday but got error messages after sending them so I gave up. I just had to stop in this morning and try once more to say how thrilled I was that you both made it to the top of that beautiful trail. From the picutres you posted on your earlier attempt I was hoping you would try again for another look at that beautiful view. Not to mention the 'double dare ya' challenge the trail threw at you! I don't imagine that even the rain dampened your spirits after such a victory! My hubby and I aren't able to do much hiking because he needs a knee replacement, possibly both of them and of course that pesky Scleroderma stops me. We are doing all we can to stay limber and able to move around by attending water aerobics classes, every Mon, Wed, and Fri and on Fridays there is a rousing game of water volleyball for those that are up to it for an additional 1/2 hr to 45 min. Many folks don't realize what a workout you can get in the water, but if you can no longer do regular aerobics, it is an excellent choice. My hubby just watched me the first two classes and when I would be hobbleing around, stiff and sore he thought I was making "much ado about nothing" so he joined the class. After his first class, on the way home he kept saying over and over again, 'I had no idea you could get such a brutal workout in the water!' Then there is the added bonus of no stress on your joints. He hasn't missed a class since and this is our second year. You can't imagine how much fun our group has. The youngest is 21 (recovering from a devastating car accident) but the next youngest are my hubby and I, 59 on up to a wonderful couple that just celebrated their 70th anniversary, they are both 98 years old and sooo much fun. Well, as usual, I have gotten carried away, my sincere apologies. Just have to mention one more thing...the books look like a treasure trove of wonderful projects. Especiallly the "Best Loved Timeless Quilts". Okay, I hope you've had a chance to dry out and get over some of the soreness. Wishing you a save, delightful trip to Texas, and wonderful a wonderful Christmmas.
