THE REST OF THE STORY

i just didn't stop with the disappearing nine patch Saturday. That evening I made this.....it still needs to be quilted. At first I did not like it. This too is a disappearing nine patch. The dark green colors were suppose to be the pinwheel but it didn't happen. But the more I looked at this, the more it grew on me. So, time permitting, I will quilt this soon.



This is just a little table topper for church, this side is for Christmas (hummmmm as if you didn't know that)....


This side is yes...Thanksgiving. We used it today. Just added a little something extra to the table.
Just two pieces sandwiched together and stippled. Yes.....that is all I know how to do....it is what I love to do but I want to get daring one day and try other stuff....when I get brave? When my confidence is at its best!
When the cows come home? Whenever!!



Oh, one more thing.....I wasn't able to decide on a binding so I just serged around it....looks good enough. You might have to double click to see better...forgot to crop...sorry

    I guess that's why they call it the disappearing nine patch...I can't see it at all. But the quilts are wonderful.

    Barb, I can see why you were disappointed in your disappearing nine patch not delivering the pinwheel design, but I can also see why it grew on you! One of Gene's favorite words comes to mind -- it's "wonkedy" -- thus an original! I'm sure the quilting will make it even more endearing. What a great idea -- a reversible holiday table topper!

    Everything looks great! I love the top piece. Is it going to be a table runner?

    There are many quilters who only dream about being able to stipple their own quilts. They can only do straight line quilting. I love to stipple because it seems more forgiving to me. I've been practicing stitching in the ditch but I keep wobbling out of line.

    I have been experimenting with the DNP for awhile now. I can actually get the fabrics to be exactly where I want them in the finished layout. It took me awhile, but I finally figured it out. (I never said I was too bright!) I love the reversible table mat! That is a good idea and I think I am going to steal it!

    Barb, I think you got me motivated to make a Disappearing 9 patch too. I am always looking for great, but fast quilts. Love the tablerunner too!
