FINISHED PROJECT

As most of you know, I am on a towel addiction (anyone know a cure, please email me)....so...as I am moving fabric around from place to place (oh yes....I have a true mess in my sewing room)....I should say from pile to pile. Moving papers, scribbles, notes, patterns.....

So....as I am contemplating my next towel and I am thinking of doing tree skirts, (I have the cutest pattern). Anyways.....I hear this voice.... "Barbara"....now most people call me Barb...who could this be?

So...I ignore the voice until it happens again...and this time I recognize it as myself...so I say "What's up self?".......and then I remeber this.... from I have a notion, it was a giveaway win.....
So.....................

Then I have moved this more times than I want to admit. I won this over at Fabric Artist

So I tell myself to get lost....I am busy doing towels...but the voice calls again....it says "You know you want to....just come feel the wonderful fabric,
smell it...
can't you just see that wonderful wall hanging already done up?"

Go away self...I already have too much to do!

Well...as you can see from the next picture....I a weak....really weak...I confess it!! You heard it here first....yes....I am oh sooo weak...and my self won out....

Oh yes............

I made it a little bigger than the wall hanging and I also changed it up a little.
I am so thrilled and so now....back to the towels and tree skirts....

Anyone have a cure for shutting up the self??? Or am I skizoid? Do I have dual personalities? Hummmm, you better ask my husband that one?

Maybe he would like my self better....Barb or Barbara? Hummmmm Does he already know and is cheating on me?

  2. I'm sorry to inform you that the cure for making towels is still in the early stages, so until a cure is found you will just have to continue making towels and having fun. lol The fabrics are yummy and the wall hanging turned out so cute.

  3. Oh that is just adorable!!! I like your version even better than the original.

At least if your hubby is cheating, it's still with you LOL. As for the voice....well, it obviously did not lead you astray, just call it a good friend :0)

  4. Unfortunately I havae those losing arguments with myself as well. That's how I get my sewing room in such a mess with a pile for this project, one for that project, another etc., etc. I don't think there's a cure, and I don't think I want one! The wall hanging is just beautiful.

  5. I think there is a song that goes like this..."there ain't no cure for towels....or is it love?

  6. Barb the wall hanging is beautiful.
Often times I use my applique quilt patterns for my towels too.
The phase will fade after you make about 100. And god forbid you decide to make themed ones, then you will really be in trouble.
When you run out of towels, then jsut make them out of fabric.

  13. Oh, Barb, this is so cute-and it's finished!- why would you not listen to yourself? (I think it may have been that dumpy-sweet crow whispering to you!)
This is great, you feel accomplishment, and now you can go back to your regularly scheduled programming. Dishtowels, Hm? Are they your Christmas gifts this year?

  26. The wall hanging is wonderful! I love the fabric, all of it and especially the acorn print background...too cute! AND I'm so relieved to know that I'm not the only one that hears my voice calling to me from various projects. I was starting to worry, LOL.

  28. Oh, the three faces of Barb. I don't think you have to worry until you find yourself perched in a tree. Talking to yourself is healthy, it keeps you sane, and look at what wonderful work it brings. Cute!! The colors are great. So keep on listening.
