I WOULD RATHER BE QUILTING!!

Notice that there are three different types of fabric there? I am making three shirts for my husband at one time. I have already made him two on Saturday. He liked that one green shirt so much (earlier post on buttons) that he asked for more and well....as I was ironing his shirts I saw how bad off they were so I relented.

I would much rather be quilting. See the three pockets, 3 collars, 3 lapels? That is what I am working on today...well....when I finally get off the computer.

So...I went shopping Saturday for the material for his shirts, at least that is what I justified to him for buying more fabric.

Well.......

As I am sewing on his shirts Saturday.....

He comes into my sewing room.....faces my material wall and says....."Why did you buy all that fabric today when you could have made me shirts from some of this fabric, you certainly have enough?"

I am thinking "ARE YOU KIDDING ME"? REALLY!!! YOU ARE KIDDING!!

So that is what I said...."Are you Kidding me!"

"That fabric is for quilting, not shirts!"

OH...he says....."Heaven forbid that you use some of this fabric for me a shirt!"

I am laughing inside because he is right but.....I am not telling him that!!!!!

Maybe I will need to go shopping for more shirt fabric soon?

  2. Tell him you also need fabric for swaps and giveaways and for your store........so you can't deplete your supply for something as "silly" as a shirt. LOL

  3. I have made a few Hawaiian shirts for my husband and he would love for me to make him more (he lives in Hawaiian shirts!) I will eventually relent but I really don't enjoy sewing clothes. Takes time away from making quilts and other crafty things! Hey, since you're making 3, wanna throw a 4th on the machine for my guy LOL!

  4. Gee, I actually thought the same as your husband! (but if I were making the shirts, I would probably have gone to buy more fabric too!)

  9. I just love that story. I'm with you....never, never, never use even a scrap of good quilting fabric on a mans shirt. My husband would be painting in the darn thing if I were not watching :)

  10. Oh Barb you made me laugh so hard this morning ROFLMBO

I could almost see the disappointment on your hubby's face that you wouldn't part with your precious quilting fabric to make him a shirt...how cruel you are LOL. The best part is not telling him he was right ROFL.

  12. Oh yeah! it's not a good thing that he knows how much fabric you have! Make him more shirts and he will be happy....keep him away from your sewing area!....

  14. Good grief you can't use your stash for shirts! Hubbies just think it's just all fabric, not something you search out and bring home and look at for ages before you cut into it.
