CHICKEN QUILT

My husband has a birthday coming this Monday, and so I finally finished this quilt for him. Tried all different ways to quilt this but finally decided that little is better.....(after spending about 1 1/2 hours pulling out threads, from trying this or that)....not fun....but it is done. Oh...there is a problem with my machine...but I am going to drive it til it dies....and then off to a new machine for me....any suggestions?

  3. Great quilt Barb. You made a "manly" quilt with chickens, I bet he just loves it.

Sorry about your machine, but a new one is always fun.

  4. Those chickens are SO much fun!!! What pattern is that? Sorry about the machine.....and I hope it lasts longer than you expect and you can then get a new machine you really love. (Ever since my problem with my new Janome a few months back.....and then they got it fixed for me.....I've been very happy with it.)

  10. Pinelands Barb gave me the link to your blog..This is a really cute quilt. I looked carefully at all the different chickens/roosters on this quilt. They made me smile!I use to collect chickens & roosters( not live ones of course) My daughter had a pet chicken at one time.Now..we have 2 neighbors with very loud roosters that crow ALL day! not really fond of live roosters anymore :(

  11. I have loved this project from the get-go. It is adorable. Someday.........

I have to admit that I love my Janome. I also have a Bern*ina, but I will constantly go to the Janome. Jodi at http://simplythisandthat.blogspot.com has an Elna that she posted about which appears to be the same machine as the Janome and she loves hers too. You can check her ratings on her blog. It is also cheaper. Good luck.

  13. What a great quilt. I'd suggest a Husqvarna or a Pfaff. Expensive machines, however well worth it.

  14. Cute chickens!!! This quilt is adorable. He will love it.

Hope your trials with the machine goes well...if there are no sewing machine repair places there, maybe there would be someone who fixes other small motors? They might be able to fix it. Sounds like it is a wiring problem or switch, if it shuts off.

  18. Well if you're looking for a new machine, I have the Janome 6600 with the table too. (am spoiled) and I just love it.
Your quilt is so cute and those older ones are wonderful.
It's always good to recycle old quilts for the blog as there are new guys (like me) out there who haven't been around for so long..
