So today I went over to Jane's Fabrics and Quilts, and she suggested I go to Aunt Pitty Pat's for another block swap. Now this is one of those cases like in the movies where the villian is behind the door and the main character of the show is coming with a ball bat to look behind the door (and you know that the person with the bat has no chance in Haties to survive and that person knows better than to look but just can't help it)....and you want to SCREAM!!!!! Don't look behind that door.....run...run..... Well...You guessed it, I went and looked.....No one told me not toooo!!! And I just couldn't help it...like some magnetic force pulling me in that direction.
Sooooooooooooooooooo....I joined another block swap. I tried to tone down my colors. In the tutorial for this swap, she has many different colored block, I just chose two colors. So this is the 9 Patch. Each little square in the big square is 5 inches. This is called the Disappearing 9 Patch.
Then you slice and dice it to get this.
To achieve this: You just move the squares any which a way...and ta dah!!!
Go on over to Aunt Pitty Pat's and see her take on these blocks and look at the tutorial and then yes.....sign up....you don't need a bat or someone to scream at you...just sign up. Join in the fun.
But I don't have time!!!!! And I don't want to commit to something that I might not be able to get done. Love to see the photos of what everyone else does though!
ReplyDeleteSome people know exactly which "hero" to lure into looking behind the door LOL. I'm sure you will have a blast doing this swap.

ReplyDeletevery nice block Barb. You sure came back with some energy after your trip. :)
ReplyDeleteI have done the disappearing 9 patch. It is such a neat result for less work than it looks.
ReplyDeleteOk..go ahead and play with the layouts! Change, Change, Change. Fun way to go & you spend more time changing the layouts than the time it took you to make the blocks! Have fun!
ReplyDeleteI love the disappearing nine patch for all the variations it provides. Great job.
