FOR THE CAT LOVERS OUT THERE!!

Do you think I ever got to that wedding quilt I need to make? If the answer was no, you are right. I have done some chicken squares for my husband chicken quilt, if you want to see them go to Quilters Corner. I worked on another quilt, to be shown at a later date. But no wedding quilt was ever touched....hummmm the reason being is...what you see below.

I went through alot of my fabric and found what you see above, which was a panel that you sew the back and front together and you have a cat to stuff. I was going to do that (easy).....but no....I got this idea....and it wouldn't let go.....so I made a pattern for myself and what you see below is what I came up with.

Now her baby has this cute little cat that has the fleece backing (I can't think if that is the right word for it...it will come later). There are things I would do different, but for a first go....I am not too disappointed. I also didn't take the picture at the right angle so it is, therefore, not a very good picture...but you get the just of it. I sandwiched the front and back and stippled them before stuffing. I like to do this so when you stuff it you don't have alot of bumps, especially when you use the left over batting from past quilting projects (doesn't that mean I went green)? Conserve where I can...besides, stuffing is hard to get here and it also makes the project more durable.

  1. Very cute cat Barb. It's good to go with the creative juices. Was the word you were looking for Minkee (or however you spell it LOL)?

  6. Love the cat. Super cute. I love the way you did the tail the best. As for my stippling, it's all free-hand motion. Good luck with the wedding gift. Hopefully you can get to it, but I know how it is having so many projects going on at several times and wanting so bad to get them all done. If there were only more time in the day.

  7. So are you going to share this adorable cat pattern with all of us--or at least put it into saleable form? He/she is just too cute! Since I currently have 5 cats, it would fit right in with our family!
