Sometimes we take the little things for granted!

Like this little, I call it the bobbin cover?

I was making the said quilt below post (the pink one).

I went to wind the bobbin and what would you know, I misplaced this little puppy.

I searched high and low.

I swept the floor

I swept under things that haven't been swept under in ages (not ashamed).

I cleaned off my sewing table (still not ashamed).

The bad part is, the said quilt below caused me so much grief that this was only the beginning.

So...I thought, why not try just quilting the quilt without the cover.

So I changed machines...still kinda grumpy but we are trying to make lemonade here.

On new machine and just before I finished the last three inch square of quilting that quilt, I ran out of bobbin thread.

Heaven help me because my eyes I believe started turning red.

get the quilt finished and start on binding.

I am attaching the binding to the quilt and two to three inches before I finish sewing it on....

Out of bobbin.

How can this be happening!!!

Eyes are a little redder.  You know my hazel eyes turn green when I am mad....

just so you know you have been warned.

So it is attached, now it is time to flip over and finish sewing it on.  I do not hand sew the binding, I sew in the ditch.

This is where the fire shoot out of my eyes.

I ran out of bobbin thread again..

For some reason the bobbin would not wind correctly so I just went with what I had.

I am not a cursing woman but if I was, not only would fire be shooting out of my eyes but a whole string of naughty words would be following.

I think this would be a coniption fit?

Later after I calm down, I go back in my room, search the garbage can twice.

Later a third time,

search everywhere again.

Finally I gave up.

This was all Saturday.

Guess where I found it...

Come on guess.

I gave you a clue in the picture above and (this time I am ashamed).

Whoops! I posted my comment under the wrong user ID. Please delete...

It's always right there under our nose! I am glad you found it though!

oh, dear! (I admit, I just chuckled - only because I can relate so very clearly to this!!) You are better than I, though, at self control, because the naughty words definitely would have been flying here. ;D

Thanks for a good laugh at the end of a long day. Just makes you shake your head in amazement. Stay safe

Hmmmm. I don't see it in that little "cubby hole" on the machine (I am guessing this is the Babylock or a Brother machine) I have lost things in that little cubby a few times.

I have done worse. I changed a bobbin -didn't get that cover on fully. It slid and I had to take the nearly new machine in for service as it managed to score the bobbin case. I have been a lot more careful since then.

Well you found it! I had a screw missing (I know lots of jokes there) and I knew it fell into the bottom of the machine. I did take it apart to fix it! It made me happy to know I could do that, but a pain in the behind! So glad you didn't inadvertently throw it out.

You found it in your sewing machine tool box? If so, that is what you get for trying to be organized. It happens to me all the time. The rare times when I put something in a particular place (aka where organized people keep things) and it is not in obvious site, I spend hours, days, weeks (maybe longer) trying to find what I put in an organized place. It is the curse of the unorganized quilter! BTW - I'm still looking for a particular pattern that I misplaced (filed) four months ago. Today I broke down and bought another one!

LOL Happens to me all the time. I have a Catholic friend who taught me this saying: Toni, Toni turn around, what is lost must be found. You say this as you turn and look around the room. It works for me every time!!!! I may not find that thing I lost immediately, but a short time later, or even a day later, I find it, right in plain sight. Try it. It works every time!

Bwahahaha...yeah, we can laugh now, but at the time it was eyes shooting fire. I so get it. I seem to be constantly berating myself how things can just up and disappear into thin air. I quite happy to be within good company! LOL

We shared the day of lost things with you at my house. First it was the dog's zapper collar that keeps him from jumping the fence. Then it was a pill bottle that I keep loose change in. I didn't NEED it, but it drove me crazy that I couldn't find what ended up being eye level right in front of my face!
I get REALLY anxious when I can't find something almost to the point of getting sick to my stomach. Luckily you and me found what we were looking for!
xx, Carol

So sorry for all that frustration. I would have quit and gone to a different room for a while or a few days, or weeks(!) a couple of times there.
