A PIECE OF........BLOG HOP and GIVEAWAY

                                         AWESOME OCEAN

                                                               45" x 50 1/2"

             Aren't these fabrics BEAAAUUUTTIIFFFUL?????

Don't they just stir your soul?

            Make those creative juices flow?

I can never get enough of Island Batik Fabrics.

A piece of my heart belongs to the Ocean, I just know I was born to the wrong family, I truly am an island girl.  I love the smell, sounds, and the peaceful feeling of the ocean, especially the ocean mist.

When I found out about "Awesome Ocean" by Elizabeth Hartman, I just knew that I wanted to make it for this "A Piece of...blog hop"

I just love her little book.  She gives great detail and wonderful pictures.  I personally am a picture person and will read the direction if I get into trouble, which is semi often.....Yes, you would think I would learn!!!!

I don't know if this quilt was easier than her Fancy Forest but this quilt was easy and went pretty fast.

I used Hobbs Tuscany Collection Cotton Wool Blend and it feels awesome to the touch and is smooth as butter to quilt on.  I am sure you saw my post but I love Hobbs batting so much that I purchased a whole roll of it.  Even tho Hobbs has partnered with Island batik and has given the Ambassadors samples such as you see above, I had to buy the roll because I love it that much.

I quilted this quilt with Aurifil #2605.  I love the grey thread for sewing and quilting.

                                                   A beautiful Fall day.

Jennifer over at Inquiring Quilter is showing her project today using Magical Reef as well, if you have a chance go on over there and say hey.

Funky Friends Octopus, she has some wonderful patterns and some free ones as well.

Want to make this quilt?

Kathleen over at Kathleen  McMusing is doing An "Awesome Ocean" Sew along. Just click on her name and it will take you to her blog where you can learn all of the specifics and tell her that you want to join in the fun.  The party starts Nov. 23rd.  I will be showing an Octopus quilt using the Island Batik Magical Reef fabric on Dec. 7th and maybe show you a few tricks.

The fabrics, featured in this Blog Hop, are from the stunning Summer 2019 Collections, that will be coming to fabric stores very soon! Be sure to ask your local quilt shop if they are stocking one or, better yet, all these incredible collections. You did a great job on your Awesome Ocean quilt. It showcases the fabrics and matches the name of the line too! So I suppose your answer is "A Piece of the Ocean!"

Wowee, a tablerunner? Such a perfect prize for gift giving season. Love your quilt and I agree that Elizabeth's pattern is perfect for it. Love your photo with the octopus and the kiddy pool. I should have thought of that! I love that we are partners today! Wasn't the Magical Reef collection fun to work with? So beautiful!

I just went and ordered the Awesome Ocean Pattern! And I am sure it all yours and Island Batiks fault. I have made Hartmans Enchanted Forest and found it eaiser to do as I went alone and followed every single step in the order given. Just like she knew what she was doing and I did not...lol
