It sure feels that way lately and for some reason I keep saying this phrase over and over so maybe if I tell you, it will go away.
How soon the Holidays came up on us and how soon they will be fleeting away.....
For over a month now my husband and I have been traveling back and forth between this home and the one in San Antonio. We bring a load each time we come.
Unfortunately, the previous owners have not moved all of their stuff out of the out buildings so it is making it difficult for us to move our stuff in and renovate the one large room that will be my sewing room.
Did someone say sewing room????
I am going to embarrass myself and show you the room as it is now.
Do you see all of the items that could go in an out building?
Boxes of sewing items that I haven't a clue where to put. I have shoved boxes in closets and piled fabrics and well.....gosh...I should be ashamed for having so much but for some reason I am not...just irritated that they take up so much room right now.
Here is the beautiful tree in the front yard, it is 125 years old. The grandpa of the previous owner recorded or had records of when it was planted (who does that)?
My favorite place is the living room. It has yellow walls and at first I was going...oh noooooo but it is so bright and happy in there that I find myself just sitting or reading a book.
It will be a long while coming before things get moved where they need to be moved but true to form...I have a sewing machine set up in the spare room....
Only one issue, I left all of the Christmas fabrics in San Antonio and I need them soooooooooooooooooo bad.....that is not a whine...or was it???
Was it?
If you look on the side bar, Jacquelynne Steves is having a Holiday Hop...do join us next Monday!!! Lots of prizes...

Your new home looks lovely and oh, my goodness, but that is going to one terrific sewing room when it gets set up!!
You're making progress Barb...that's what counts! Love that tree! :0)
You will get it all figured out and unpacked and put away. Just wait and see you will have that beautiful sewing room all put together and creating before you know it.
well, that is going to be one fabulous sewing room when you finally get to move into it. Congrats on your new home. I think that is so awesome about the tree.
Happy Thanksgiving.
Any house that has a sewing room, it great for me. It look large and cannot wait to see it once you get everything in place. Love the house.
I will be through San Antonio again in January. You are really going to love that sewing room.
Your sewing room looks huge, Barb. How wonderful for you. The home looks lovely too.
Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family.
Your sewing room is going to be so big and wonderful; lots of creative room. It looks like a lovely home with a super tree in the front. Best wishes.
Yellow: a happy sunny color that reminds me of my mom. We always had a sunny yellow kitchen, and it was my favorite room in the house. Since I rent, I make do with splashes of yellow--for instance, my computer table and my kitchen table are painted yellow :)
wow, what a great sewing studio....and your house looks very nice. I know you will be happy once the move is complete.
You get that whole big room to use as a sewing studio? NICE! I am sure you will get it laid out and looking like a magazine photo shoot soon! (ha ha- and he ducks and runs!)
Your new home looks wonderful and your sewing room looks huge! Lucky you!
Your new sewing room is HUGE! I can't wait to see what you do with it!
Oh geez, I can so relate. All my stuff is downstairs and I can't get to it...it is so frustrating! Love that you have such a big sewing room....that will make up for any remodeling you have to do in the house. By the way, do you have to live in the house or can you just live in the out building that will be your sewing room? I know I would!
Smiles,
Kelly
I can see why you love your new home and before you know it, that sewing room will be perfect. Is there a Joann's near by for Christmas fabric?
Huge is right! Wow. I can't wait to see it all in place....grin.
I think your new home is lovely and looks very inviting. I love how it is brick and all one story. And how cool to have a tree in your front yard that is 125 years old. Amazing. You are going to turn this home into a beautiful forever home that will soon be your dream home.
Shall I send you some Christmas fabrics?

Your new home looks wonderful, and that sewing room is just to die for.
Love the new look to your blog. Very nice. Have fun getting the sewing room together.
Barb your new home looks fabulous and your sewing room will be th envy of all the quilters. Enjoy your holiday. Lots of hugs
That sewing area will be awesome! Pretty home. I use shades of yellow in my home and it makes it nice and cozy in Winter!
Hope you find some Christmas fabrics soon!
So excited for your new home. It reminds me of my parents home they bought after I'd been married (which was right across the street from their previous home!). It had everything they needed on one level and was a true blessing to my mom. Before you know it it will be all put together and things will feel more like home! It's kind of weird though that the previous owners haven't moved all their stuff. Maybe they've left it for you to keep?
Where are you now??? Facebook me!!
Hi, Barb! I feel your pain -- we started on a DIY sewing room remodel for me about a year ago but it's only 90% finished because I keep changing my mind about how I want my custom sewing cabinet configured, and then I get sidetracked with other projects and beg my husband to build LEGO shelving in my son's room instead of finishing MY room... It's wonderful to start from scratch, though, and have the opportunity to think about how you really work and design a space that works with you instead of against you. As for your No Christmas Fabric dilemma, well, the Green Fairy is having a big sale tomorrow with free shipping and everything, as are lots of other online shops and LQSs, I'm sure. I think you should sneak off and buy some fabric when no one is looking. I promise I won't tell. ;-)
I’m not certain where you are getting your info, but good topic. I need to spend some time learning more or figuring out more. Thank you for magnificent info I used to be searching for this info for my mission.

Good luck in your new home. I hope you settle in quickly.
I'm sure it is all so overwhelming! I'm in awe of your new place. That tree is awesome! What kind is it?
I have found that the room in an older home far surpasses anything the new homes have to offer.........as you said....you can update when necessary.......your sewing room will soon be fabulous!
Love it! Have fun getting settled in.
It sure looks cozy. I do love that tree. Hope your moving continues to be smooth sailing. :)
Wow, what a home!! There should be plenty of room for all your fabrics! YAY! I can hardly believe you won't have Christmas fabric to work on!! Nooooooo!
what inspires me is all you bloggers and your creative ideas.
