So....I got my trusty "Steam A Seam" ironed two sheets on some fabric.
Took off the backing paper
Some scraps from the latest cutting project. I would have thrown some of these away but saved them for this purpose.
ended up with this....ironed down to the "Steam A Seam"
Need some Tulle
Place over your project.
Quilt the top, this would have been a good time to practice feathers, leaves, hearts...but...I chose the lazy man's way out and meandered.
Made a little zipper bag out of it....looks kinda wonky...but I love zippered bags and will find some kind of use for it.
I just loved this and plan to do more.

I remember this technique from years ago and I saw it done with a wash away stabilizer on top or something that could be washed away after stitching on the top. It really is a good use of scraps. Adding in some threads or yarns would look great too. Your bag is so cute!
Great idea Barb
Looks fun! The bag turned out cute.
great idea thanks for sharing
It's fun to just set everything aside and play once in awhile. Pretty neat little project.
What a neat idea!
I'm glad you posted this. It seems like I've seem something similar before. Neat trick!
WOW, thanks for the tutorial. What a great way to get rid.... I mean use up scraps. Thanks Barb. I love the little tote.
How cool is that! I may just have to make one of these. Thanks for sharing.
That looks like a lot of fun to experiment with, and your little zipper bag turned out cute! :o)
Very cute. Great idea. I've also seen Tulle used in raw edge applique' to create an interesting effect. I'll also let you be the first to know, that the FMQ Expert in April is recommending use of Tulle for a particular FMQ technique.

Great idea & cute bag!
I have a book that shows how to make art quilts using this type of technique (but not with scraps!) What a great idea. When I find some spare time, I will have to try this trick!
too cute
That's a fantastic idea!!!! I love it! You'll find a million and one uses for your cute little pouch =D

That is such a cool way to use up scraps! Your bag is cute....I'm goofing today, too, since I'm checking out my fav blogs instead of working! LOL
What a cool idea and a perfect way to save those scraps from the waste basket !
Clever, clever! I especially love the use of the tulle -- I adore tulle -- it's so girly! :)
That is so interesting. I love finding ways to use my scraps. Love the bag you made from these scraps. Really great!
What a neat way to use up scraps! Thanks for sharing. I'm glad you goofed off instead of binding.
Cute little bag, some days it is just fun to goof around but this is a good way to get the creative juices going again. Have fun Barb that is what it is all about. Blessings
