PAINT SPLATTER

This has been a fun project.   This little quilt has been done for some time and I am so glad because life happens.  My husband and I had been sick for weeks and then I went to visit a grandson for two weeks so no sewing has been done except for the curtains in my son's home.

The challenge was to do a modern quilt baby size or larger.  I used my
Island Batik foundation bundle because I love color!!!
The pain splotches were taken off pinterest,  I just typed in paint splotches and chose the ones I wanted and resized them.

Then as I was putting the paint splotches on I thought of all those little hands through the years that have gotten into my projects and left the tail tail signs.  Even now my sweet grandsons have seized my heart and have left their hand prints there.

I tried to use my Aurifil threads to blanket stitch around the paint and hands.  Before I left to see my son and his family  I had ordered some aurifil threads from Missouri Star Quilt Co. , happiness to find them waiting for me when I came home.   I think I am addicted to these threads and for some reason can't get enough of them.

Yesterday I drove 20 hours by myself to get home, there truly is no place like home.  Even tho it was hard leaving my little grandson and his parents, it was so nice to be headed home.

My husband kept our other grandson overnight while I was gone and this little handprint was waiting for me when I got home on the bathroom door.  Don't ya just love it???

At the risk of repeating myself, these ladies below, Island Batik Ambassadors, are so amazing.  If you want inspiration, go visit their blogs.

The handprints are a fabulous added touch - you've created an heirloom!
