FUN AMONG CHAOS

So much going on over here at Bejeweled....

not much sewing but some.

A friend gave me some tomatoes and so I decided to can them....oh my gosh.

I so love to can.

But I hate tomatoes and truly hated smelling them, almost lost my cookies a few times

Have I told you how I hate tomatoes???

Truly hate them.  I will eat spaghetti sauce, ketchup but if they have chunks in them.....

just can't do it.

Then I purchased some peaches

I could can ever day.....

made some jelly

What to can now???

I am working on an Island Batik project for August

here is a sneak peak.... using the fabric line "Lavish" and some
Desert Rose.

I have actually purchased some Island Batik fabric but purchased it online but maybe you are luckier than I am and can find a place to purchase your own by using Island Batik store locator.

i can't imagine not liking tomatoes. But I know some people really can't stand them. I love canning preserves. I am going to try some low sugar ones this year when the figs start getting ripe.
The peek at your project looks great.

Totally beautiful!
I love canning too and just saw a recipe for watermelon jelly that I really want to try!

Lovely peek at your sewing project! I never heard of someone hating tomatoes. I'll take them, lol!

I wouldn't can something that I didn't like. Really. I used to love to can. Pickles and I loved putting up apple pie mixture in quart jars; ready to just pour in a crust and go for it.

Ha! I did strawberry jam with the granddaughters today, but am working on the peaches this week. The tomatoes aren't enough to can yet. I love doing it too.

I used to can, but not anymore. The older I get, the less time I want to spend in the kitchen! Looking forward to seeing your latest Island Batik project in August!

I love tomatoes but my stomach no longer tolerates them. Canning them must have been near impossible for you even with fans blowing and all the windows open. We each have a smell we can't stand.

Your Island Batik projects are always so bright and fun.

What yummy fun. Love your sneak peek. Your canned tomatoes remind me of being a young girl. My grandmother always canned tomatoes and I can remember even in the winter that she could prepare a yummy meal that tasted like summer.
