FUMBLES AND JUMBLES

If you have been a reader of my blog for a while, you will know that I get on jags....I make things that I like until I get sick of it.  This last two months it has been pillows.  I want to make enough for all seasons for my dinning room and living room.

Isn't it true that when a football player fumbles a ball he does everything in his power to get the ball back?

Well.....yesterday I started making this small top for a pillow.  I am actually not sure I like it but that is another post for another time.

So..... I measured my pillow.  I cut my border and this is what I got.  Not too shabby.

Then I went to see if the top will fit the pillow and my gosh was ever tooo big?  So.....I recalculated.

Cut

and by George if I didn't cut one side wider than the other but it works.

So here is my pillow.  I would say it is a jumble of a mess but once again IT WORKS!!

No matter how hard you try to recover yourself you still end up on the short end (sometimes)....

But.....why am I telling you this?  To complain?
NOPE
Because I am frustrated?

NOPE

Because no matter how much we think we know and how much we sew, we still tend to fumble and that is ok......because "IT ALL WORKS OUT" or just throw it in the trash...HA!!!

I used Island Batik scraps which reminds me, Today is Freemotion by the River's blog hop day for Island Batik, she made two fabulous pillows....hope you go over there.

I try not to fumble too often but it does happen. The last one I did have to throw out, but normally I can make something work! Love your pillow! :0)

It looks great, you told your secrets when no one would have noticed, but you made a good point.

Had you not mentioned it, Barb, none of us would have known that it wasn't exactly as you planned it.

Happens to me all the time. However, I don't usually have a great save like you did. Love your pillow.

it looks great! good job on it and love the quilting. yeah isn't it funny how we can cut certain things we've cut for ages and then measure wrong??
btw I'm like you, I make something until I get tired of it! :)

Fumble....Fart...and Fall as my Mama used to sometimes say. I like the save,
I really like the way the Word Winter looks like maybe falling snow or laying on snow banks.

You're so right, mistakes happen - to me they seem to happen rather too often, but there we go!

We all fumble at times but I fine the older I get the more I fumble but I just keep on.Love the pillow, I have decided to make smaller things this year and not get into big projects and maybe they will get done.

I so agree with you! I learned a long time ago not to fret over small mistakes - and almost all mistakes are small. :) blessings, marlene
