Octopus Quilt

Yes....I have gone octopus crazy.

While looking for some gray fabric to match the gray in the fabric of the above quilt, I came across this polka dot fabric

 and....

just had to have it.

This next quit top is a friend of mine.  Her anniversary was last Sunday.  She came to me with these squares (which were her mother in laws who had just passed away) and she wanted to make this quilt for her husband for their anniversary.

She had less then two days to make it.  So while she was working I put the top together for her.
That night she quilted it, straight lines (she is not a quilter) and the next day I put the binding on for her while she made the label.  Team work got it done in time.

On an even happier note, Accuquilt picked up a few of my patterns for their website.  Under new patterns.  They have one more to be put on and I have a few more in the works.

WE ARE DOING THE OLD DOG THING AGAIN....CAN AN OLD DOG LEARN NEW TRICKS?????

Here is my new baby.... Pfaff 4.0 expression.

I sold my pfaff 2058....the Horizon was sold a while back.

This is about the same size as the Horizon but the pfaff has dual feed and the Horizon had this big walking foot.

Don't get me wrong, I loved the Horizon but I really wanted the dual feed.

This machine does not have the lever that lifts the foot...it has a button to lift and a button to lower. My hand keeps going to the back of the machine to lift and lower...driving me crazy....

I used the lever a lot when I blanket stitch...now I don't know what to do with my hands.... What a thing to complain about...RIGHT!!!! WHAAAAAAA poor me....

Working on another octopus quilt..... I love this one. YOu can not see the gray in the white and pink squares...one day I will take a good picture...

HAVE YOU EVER HAD TO FIT A ROUND PEG INTO A SQUARE HOLE? NO MORE!!! NEW DESIGN! VINTAGE CLOTHING!

REMEMBER THIS PHOTO?

I asked you to guess what I was making???

No more guessing!!!

Here it is all set up!

So what do you think?  No more rectangle place mats for me....

---------------------------------------

On another note:

So many times I have gone into stores wanting to buy a dress and well....they just are not modest enough for me.
Most are sleeveless, low in the top and well...just not what I would want to wear.

Have any of you heard of Shabby Apple?

They have vintage clothing.  At first I thought vintage clothing???  I don't know????

But................

I went to their website and oh my stinking GOSH!!!  I love love love their dresses.  If you have time and are looking for modest clothing that is fashionable, this is the place to go.

Here are a few of my favorites

WHAT DOES A GUESSING GAME, JURY DUTY, TREE OF LIFE HAVE TO DO WITH EACH OTHER??? Two wonderful giveaways

Absolutely NOTHING!!!!

Except one was keeping me from doing what I wanted to be doing.

Went to Jury Duty yesterday and sat all day long waiting for my name to be called to go to panel....it was never called. Sorry if you hear my elation in that...

It was interesting to see how the system works or as much as the system I saw working.

The judge led us in the Pledge of Allegiance, I thought that was pretty interesting.

There were 600 of us in one room. It is also interesting to note that with all those people in one room it was very quiet and respectful

. Oh well.....

 Next....

can you guess what I am making???? This is the front (haven't finished meandering it)

This is the back?????  I am really quite excited....but dog gone it...I have to go grocery shopping today!!!

Tree of life I am working on  trust me, it looks a lot better when you see it up close and personal.

Next is a giveaway Jacquelynne Steves is having, looks like a very fun one...go check out her new blog while you are at it.

Here is another wonderful giveaway  Share and Win from the Quiltsy Team

SCRAPPY KINDA DAY!!

Saturday I didn't feel like doing much sewing so I got my Go cutter out and started tackling my scraps.

Using the 2 1/2" strip die I started hammering down on my mound of scraps.

I am happy to report that I did get enough scraps cut to make 57 of these blocks (made yesterday).

More scraps to cut up....tons more. I didn't even make a dent....(head is hanging low).....

I am sure most of you have seen my yellow Tree of Life...it has a gazillon leaves.

I must be insane to do another one of these...

.so...

I have decided that every day I will do at least 21 leaves....why 21 you ask?

Because as I am stitching them down...I say just one more...one more....so I couldn't stop with just twenty...had to do one more.

So far I have 65 stitched down and that is not even scratching the surface...poor me.... (head hanging low again)

So the winner of the pattern is Sherry Von Fumetti.......  I will send the pattern right over.

Now back to the Tree of Life

A New Runner - - -JUST IN TIME FOR THE 4TH!!!! FABRIC FUSIBLES CONTINUED

I went back to JoAnn's and purchased a lighter Heat n' Bond and then I saw this Pellon Wonder Under

I have to confess that I do like having fusible on a roll.

I know that Steam A Seam has it on a roll  but I have had to order it. Having it on the roll makes for larger projects. Heat N Bond also has it on a roll at Walmart.

I used the Wonder Under on the Red streamers.....
1. easy application
2. didn't need steam
3. no gumming on the needle

I used the Heat N Bond on the hat and stars.
1. Easy application
2. didn't need steam
3. no gumming of needle

I did find that the Heat N Bond was a little heavier than the Wonder Under.

I actually liked using both products.

Haven't decided which one I like better, that will come with more use.

I did not have any issues with getting the paper to come off the back so that was nice.

Yes, I am probably a little late with this runner but I sure love it, you can find the pattern here:

I did order some Misty Fuse from Kelly at I Have a Notion and so look forward to trying this one out.

It is so nice to have so many options.  At one time I would panic if I did not have Steam A Seam but those days are gone.

If you want to see the comments from others about some of these products go here  I enjoyed the comments, very educational!
