SAD DAY!!!! Happy Day for two winners!!

First I want to say that this is a sad day for me. I put Mr. Pfaff on Craigslist today and already have 4 people asking about him. My husband says I should keep him but....my sewing machines and supplies are running me out of my house, a gal has to have a place she can move around in easily...don't ya think? I am not one for clutter, I can take it for a little while and then...it just has to go.

Since I purchased another pfaff that does the same thing and more...well....why keep Mr. Pfaff.

Here is he in all his glory..... I do not believe I have enjoyed a machine more. I am hoping my new pfaff will treat me as kindly.

Now to the winners....wow...my numbers left on my blog...what is up with blogger. I go to some of your blogs and try to post but only get a white page....sorry if you think I am snubbing you.

Denise from "Count it *all* joy" won the runner

Andra Gayle from "Simplify and Quilt" won the drunkard's path.

Thanks to all of you who were able to reply for coming by..... I am weeding out my room. I just sold a stash of 70's fabrics on craigslist as well. I mean business....I can't take it!!!

My one sister is having a birthday/Christmas gift (yes I am embarassed) and I made her a Be Attitudes Quilt...well...kinda, she is having to put the borders on it and quilt it...I did supply the backing. So...in her box went other things, one baby quilt half finished....and one surprise (was meant to be a surprise so I can't tell you) and a few other things. Whohoooooo two UFO's gone gone gone.....

I can't sell my Bernina, not unless someone wants to take a chance on it but I want it out. I am selling my surger....I just don't use it that much. I want to get rid of quilting books

...no...the accuquilt go cutter stays here.....

Trust me, I just went through my closet of clothes and Good Will got a bunch of things.

Kelly from "I have a Notion" gave a good post the other day about things taking up space, time and energy....I agree with her.....so out it is going....so if you are standing in front of my door when I toss it...here is my apology in advance for hitting you.

  3. I am having a hard time adjusting my brain to be less possessive of things I have acquired and keep "just in case". I am part of the 366 Challenge, to rid myself of at least one thing a day all year and I am making good progress.

I think you'll have campers just waiting for you to start flinging so they can catch!

  4. Oh Barb, I so know how you feel! I, too, have been weeding things out. Goodwill got not one, not two, but three CAR LOADS of stuff from us! Jeff and I went through the entire house gathering up stuff that was taking up space and energy....and out it went. I did sell my Bernina, and have sold two of my Singers. I'm thinking about selling my Viking, too, even with the problems it has. You should list yours on eBay or CL and mention whatever problems it has....someone will buy it!

Congrats to your winners...you are so generous and I know they are going to love their prizes!

    Chat soon!

    XOXO,

    Cyndi

  6. Good on you for getting that stuff out! I am sentimental about my things too, but I always remind myself that they will be going to a new home where they are loved and appreciated and used, and that I wouldn't want to waste away inside my closet/storage bins either.

What's wrong with your Bernina? Maybe there's a place you can donate it to where someone else would be able to fix it and give it a second life? Or even if someone else is looking to buy a new Bernina, maybe the shop will take the old one in trade? Then your machine would at least be used for donor parts, and whoever you gave it to could get a good discount on a new machine.

  7. I'm with you, Barb! I'm trying to get rid of my mother's sewing estate and it's slow progress. I'm about halfway through the six or seven boxes of patterns to catalog. I've given away a few things on Freecycle and am looking into how to sell on eBay. I have a friend looking to get back into sewing coming over Saturday night to take a look at the machines, fabric, patterns and notions. I need to contact the library as to whether they want all of her books. And then I'm going to be in touch with the two local guilds about the rest of it. I feel that as long as one thing a week moves out the door, I'm making progress!

  10. Wow - you really are cleaning house.

I couldn't comment on your blog either - got the white page - but it looks like it's working now. (Or maybe I should hold my breath while I hit the "publish" button.)

  12. I have a machine I need/want to sell but Hubbykins has a small stroke when I mention it. Books I keep, magazine went out this morning with the other trash. I wasn't sure why I was keeping them. I had some that were 12 yrs old. If I hadn't made it in 12 yrs. chance are I wasn't going to.

  15. Doesn't it feel good to get rid of all that clutter. I just hope you're not like me - as soon as I purge, within a week I need something I gave away! Yikes! Wish I were like Jean and purged every 6 months. I think I have a problem. LOL
    Congratulations to the winners.

  16. Congrats to the winners! If it is just going to be sitting there it is better that it goes to someone who will use it. My Goodwill(s) don't accept craft items anymore. Very sad. Our other thrift store (Kiwanis) has fabric and patterns occasionally but you have to be quick. One of the Kiwinis is right next to my neuro doctor so I stop in there regularly to see what they have. When the snowbirds leave around Easter there is usually a better selection. It seems liek they like to clean out their houses before they leave for the Summer.

  17. Good for you Barb, I don't get to close to my machines but boy I sure do hate to give up one little piece of fabric as I know next week I might need it. I did sell my Janome after I bought my new machine but now I wish I had it but I just don't have enough room with the accuquilter, the bobbin side winder, the bias maker and on and on. I have a lot of books and magazines to go to but since I don't belong to guild anymore don't know what to do with them and I keep buying more. Oh well just pile in corner.

  18. I got the "white page" on your blog earlier.
I need to simplify and declutter too.

  19. Yay!! How exciting...this makes my day!!! I completely understand the need to purge. We tossed out a LOT when we went full time to the RV. I still find things that I realize there's no need to keep! :)

  23. I de cluttered my office T work last week, threw out a whole bookcase and filing cabinet full of junk and then chucked the bookcase and the filing cabinet. Replaced with a table and chair. Feels soooooooo good! Enjoy your new space - now you can go buy more fabric:-)

  24. I agree with the comment before me....gonna be hard not to buy more fabric once you are done! LOL Congratulations to the winners, and to you, too...you will love your space when you are finished! Come to think of it, I need to do that too. Maybe after the business tax forms are done.
