Batiks...

Sometimes a piece of fabric just needs to be left alone.... That ugly brownish is really salmon.

So I made a runner out of it.

Here is the back fabric (purchased from inchworm fabrics)

Here is the runner....I just love it. One problem, it doesn't match anything in my house.

Have a wonderful week-end. Things are pretty quiet over here, haven't been around visiting much either, will be by soon!!

It's beautiful, Barb! And who cares if it doesn't match anything...just use it as a reminder of your great times in American Samoa and the wonderful friends you made there!

XOXO,

Cyndi

Pretty fabric , shame it does nothing for your decor . My solution (for what it's worth) Plan B , applique . solid colours ,picking up the shades in the flowers

I agree. The backing to Trav's quilt could be a beautiful quilt all on its own. I'll be posting it and send you the link as soon as I can get someone to hold it up for me to take a picture. I find it it's held up I can get a much better picture. I always take pictures of them before they go to the quilter for some reason, lol!

Isn't that always the way? I have made things in the past and just fallen in love with them, only to realize I have nowhere to put them! But that's okay! It's still lovely!

Very pretty, Barb. So...who cares if it doesn't match anything in your house, use it anyway and enjoy it. You could always put it on the back of a chair, put it in the bathroom, fold it over on a hangar and keep it for a 'quick needed gift'.

Oooh. I love it too. I guess you'll just have to redecorate. lol

Maybe you need to redecorate so it does match? Even if it doesn't, who cares! It's gorgeous!

We have lots of batik here (it came over from Indonesia) but it has become somewhat different here. Used mainly for wall hangings, batik made into shirts, long skirts etc but not as fabric to be bought by the yard. Am trying to upload some photos to send you.

Match? That can't matter can it? Love that fabric.

Your top photo had me to come by to tell you how beautiful that pattern is. I used to do batik years ago.

I think you take the runner to hubby and say that you really need to re-do the ______ (insert name of room) and see if he will go for it? LOL That wouldn't work at my house, either! (Grin)

It's such pretty fabric and it has lots of fall colors! So just use it as a seasonal touch and don't worry if it matches everything else.
