SLOW AND STEADY WINS THE RACE.

Slow goings around here....but it is going...

don't laugh....but this quilt goes from one wall to the next in my dinning room. It looks disarrayed right now because it has been sitting there since, I think Monday.... I will walk past it, switch a few pieces around and continue on. They are sewn in four squares each right now and they are just laying there.

My son asked when was I going to pick it up. I laughed.... then he asked why was it still on the floor. I laughed again and said Inspiration son...inspiration....trying to get some.

He shrugs his shoulders and wanders off....least ways I don't have to sweep there...HA!!! Think I will gather it up today...What do you say??

My mother and sister did send me the fabrics I needed for the aprons.....

Thanks a ton!!!! Now I need to cut them out and add to the 12...easy...

Where are we at on the aprons? All 12 are cut out...All twelve have part of the waste bands on....some are sewn on and just need the opening shut and top stitched. Should already be done....but no hurry....turtle pace here....remember slow and steady wins the race.

I have had several stitching projects that I have been working or (or haven't been)....

My sister Margaret of Average quilter and my brother, Jim (my only brother) went and purchased this for my sister Beverly of
Quilters Corner. Beverly has been the main care giver of my mother (I hate that word care giver, makes my mother sound old....to me she is not old). My mother has had a few mishaps lately and this last time she ended up in the hospital.

Beverly has never complained...she is always cheerful and informative and never seems to tire of our endless questions. She has been amazing. So I am sure she felt like she won the lotto when she received this. Thanks Beverly and Thanks Margaret and Jimmy for being so thoughtful!!

Husband is home today...so I am off....

I will pick a winner for the 25 dollar gift certificate maybe Friday, My sister of Inchworm fabrics is out of town anyways and can't get to it just yet....you can find the giveway here

YOu wear me out just reading about what you're doing!! lol!! I just put up a "design wall" stitched some of those 3M Command Strips to a piece of batting! Works wonderfully, and I'm thinking it's going to come off of the wall without any problems. Playing blog catchup today..

I think your "design floor" quilt looks great! And I love those apron fabrics! Really fresh and exciting choices. Would love to see a picture of one of them completed --- don't forget to show when you are done!

I love the quilt! The bed in our spare room usually ends up being my design wall when working on a large quilt...I put a sheet over the bed and lay the quilt blocks on it and then I can just roll up the sheet with the blocks in place if it needs to be moved.

So busy! It's hard finding a large enough place to view all the quilt...don't you have a free wall?

You've been busy...wow!! I love that you don't need to sweep in the area the quilt is...what a novel idea, lol. Hope you have a great day. Hugs

Love your "design floor" Barb! Wish I had that much floor space! :o) And your son should know by now that quilters need to have their stuff strewn out so they will be ready when that spark of inspiration hits! LOL!

How wonderful of your sister and brother to purchase such a nice machine for your other sister. I'm sure Beverly is just thrilled to bits!

Have a great day today!

XOXO,

Cyndi

Those fabrics will make fun aprons for the girls. It was very sweet of your brother and sister to buy an embroidery machine for your sister. I'm sure she feels like she doesn't deserve it but I bet it will make her smile anyways.

The quilt will come together. The aprons are going to be so pretty. Your girls will love them. How nice for Beverly. What a thoughtful gesture from Margaret and Jim. Hope you enjoy the day with your husband.

Wouldn't a huge design wall be great? I use the floor too and get my exercise by all of the kneeling and reaching it takes to arrange blocks. I agree that you are amazingly productive, and your results always look wonderful

Love the colors & prints of your quilt project. And yummy fabrics your family sent you to make aprons for the Young Woman, whom I sure will treasure them always. It is also very nice of your sister to help out with your mom, as I'm sure you and your other siblings do too. Sometimes it just isn't as easy to help when you don't live next door.

Now I think we need to figure out a way to get you an embroidery machine so you can also embroidery with your sisters.

aren't boys funny about quilting, lol.
I wish I could lay quilt on the floor - not with a puppy in the house.

I am happy to hear that your family appreciates what you sister is doing. Caregiving (or whatever you want to call it) is a complicated issue. To be appreciated is very important. I am slow these days not sure how steady but definitely slow.

Wow! Busy busy busy! Great present for your sister! I love that quilt on your design floor! I am doing something like it. My blocks are small 6in by 6in. How big are yours?

LOL... I use a design floor too. I don't have a "free" wall.
The embroidery machine looks a lot like mine. I can tell it is not exactly the same model though.

You are so busy! But I also like to use a design floor. Sometimes you just have to look at things for a few days. How kind of them to give your sister a machine. Family is the best!!

I use the floor too. It just depends what's empty at the time....The quilt will be great when you're finished with it. The fabrics for the aprons are great. I hope your sister likes that machine. That's so sweet of them to buy that for her. Take care and take however long you need for your projects. It doesn't matter how fast or slow you are, as long as you get it done and enjoy yourself along the way.
