WHAT GETS YOU OUT OF BED IN THE MORNINGS?

I am not a morning person.....I can stay up late and just be happy as a little pea in a pod. But....to get up in the morning is a chore.

So....this morning I was having a hard time getting motivated until......the light bulb went off. The washer is free......and now is the best time to do my bathroom rugs.....

Oh you thought it was going to be sewing that got me out of bed. HA!!!!! Nope...my bathroom rugs.....

They are outside drying as we speak.

Crazy huh???? What gets you out of bed?

Today I am working on Service Banners.
Just click on the "Service Banners" above and it will take you to a site that will explain it to you.

I have one hanging in my window with two stars on it. Meaning I have two service men in the army.

I am working on one to teach to the young women when they go to camp. I cut my stars out with my Go cutter...easy....easy...easy... Now back to what I was doing.

Just finished it.

When you think of me today, think of my clean bathroom rugs....AHHHHHH

Ha! I did my bathroom rugs today too! Unfortunately they blew off the line and are now languishing on the lawn...I'm too lazy to go down the gargantuan hill to pick them up..my knees hurt!
I am a morning person so not too much motivation needed. When we were first married, it seemed we always had people knocking on our door for something by 7 in the morning. Hubby was a farmer and the world figures farmers do not laze around in bed..wife or no wife! I learned early on to get dressed pronto...I was embarrassed to get caught in my nightie by half the town...hmmm...I was a 'looker' back then, maybe they came on PURPOSE to catch me in a nightie????? Naughty naughty! :) Now, I'd scare them far far away! Ha.

What gets me out of bed in the mornings - usually the desire to be there for family members who have to be up. I've done that so long over the years of school that now I have a difficult time sleeping past 6-ish. Except today I probably could have slept until 11 after a MOCKINGBIRD decided to perform its entire repertoire in our yard from 12:31 to 3 something!!! I was sweet, though, and got up when my honey got up, at 5:45. I think I'll stay home and take a nap while the kids go do laser tag after lunch. ;D

When I think of you - I DO NOT think of bathroom rugs! I think of the ocean - that beautiful ocean you would show of us of Samoa. It'a a peaceful thought :)

I will forever link your name in my memory with clean bathroom rugs.

If I could figure out what would get me out of bed, I could make it to the gym at 5am.

Have a great weekend.

Oh you are soooo funny! I just love your sense of humor, my friend! What gets me out of bed in the morning? A dog and two cats sitting on either side of me, pawing at me to get up and feed them at 6:00 a.m.! But then I usually go back to bed until 7:30. What SHOULD be getting me up in the morning is going to the gym! Argh!!!

Wanna come over and wash my bathroom rugs? :o)

XOXO,

Cyndi

I am a morning and now a night owl person too. I have never heard of Service Banners before. Thank you so much for sharing the site with us.

I have had to get up at 4:15 for so long that my body can't go much longer in bed on the weekends. I was off today and lived on the wild side and got up at 4:45. LOL!!!! It is only 9:30 now and 4 loads of laundry are dry, ironed and put away. I am not a night person!!

My cat! At 5:30 a.m. she wants me out of bed because she want to eat! Oh, she has dry food available, but she wants the good stuff! My other cat never did this. This cat will cry and jump all over the bedroom until I get up and feed her! That's what gets me out of bed in the morning. Otherwise, I'm up by 6:30 because I really am a morning person.

I get out of bed bacause I have to go to work, not because I want to. However on my days off I magically can get up without an alarm - usually earlier then when I have to drag my butt out of bed to get to work. ha ha And its because I am thinking of all the awesome things I can do because I do not have to go to work. I don't get nearly the amount I wish to get done, done, but its good to just have my own time.

I am that morning person. My coffee goes off at 5:15 a.m. and I am usually awake and waiting for it to finish, but don't ask me to stay up late.

Your service banner looks wonderful.

I'm a morning person, up at 4 or 5 every day and it doesn't matter how late I stay up. I need to wash my bathroom rugs too, if it ever stops raining!!!

I used to hop out of bed early to get outside and work in my flower beds (when I didn't have to go to work). Sad to admit that I no longer get up early and it's my bladder that gets me up!
Always intended to make a service banner myself and have yet to do it.

What gets me going early (when I do manage it) is the hope that I'll have some time to myself before the kids are up and demanding things.

LOL. My mom loves clean rugs. She washes them so often that none of them have backs on them anymore. Which gives me an idea of what to get her for her birthday/Christmas/Mother's Day.

This morning, I got up at 6:00 so I could take my kids to see a hot-air balloon launch. We even got a little ride in a tethered balloon (I'll be blogging about that later). It was pretty awesome. Doing stuff for your kids is the best motivation to get out of bed oh-dark-hundred. I'm with you -- I like to stay up late. It is an inertia problem. Once my body is at rest, it likes to stay that way. And once I'm in motion I like to stay that way too.

Great post today.

Whatever it takes! Sometimes it is about that mundane for me, too.

I think it is too hot to be motivated. What a great idea to put two stars on your little quilt. Have you read the story that goes with? You can find it at Quilters Cache. Will you be going to camp with the girls?

You just reminded me that I need to wash my rugs. I have been dressing the flower beds and tracking in the dirt.

I have kids...I have no choice but to get out of bed. My DS doesn't know what sleep is...unfortunately neither do I! I stay up late...because I just don't sleep...sigh. That's what normally gets me out of bed...sometimes the laundry too! =)

I roll out about 9-ish on most mornings. I have a few types of Starbucks coffee in my freezer, and I ponder on which type to fix before I get up. Tomorrow I will think of how I should be washing my bathroom rugs instead and see if that gets me on my feet a bit earlier.

I'm a morning person. I'm usually up between 5 and 6 am. Of course that means I'm in bed around 10 or 11 pm but that's OK with me. I used to until 2 am so my body clock was all messed up. I don't think bathroom rugs would get me out of bed early though. I have one kid that gets up around 8/9 and my daughter and husband usually get up between 11 and 1...crazy!! I love how quiet the house is in the morning. I can get lots of things done by 10 am.

I was just reading about service flags in a quilting magazine. I've never really heard about them before though. Probably because we didn't know many service men or women. Those we do know didn't have service flags.

Come clean my rugs and my house. I saw a really nice pattern for a service star banner sometime ago but I don't remember where.

I am a morning person. But today I am still sleepy because I was out late last night. So I will go back to bed for an extra hour or so. There are lots of reasons for me to get up early, but bathroom rugs have never been one of them. I loved your post!

I love the Service Banner quilts. Have made a few, but definitely want to make more. You've inspired me as I will make the commitment to make them to display on July 4th, and give as many as I can to those I know that have someone serving. Thanks for inspiring me, as you always do.
