SEW........AWESOME THAT MY BOBBINS ARE EXPLODING!

A few days ago I received this in the mail from Cindy, "Just About Cindy"

Isn't it wonderful??? I will parade around the house, look in the mirror....parade some more...put it down....later....back parading again. What a heart warming gift, anytime I think of her sweet gift my heart melts all over again (too bad it won't melt the excess weight)....No words can express my gratitude.....thanks Cindy!!!! You are amazing!!

My husband borrowed my camera and so I finally found it yesterday while cleaning boxes out of our room....this house is slowly looking like a home, usually I work faster than this but......

I will have to tell you that yesterday I had such a massive headache (had headache all week), it was sooo bad last night that at one point I thought to myself, how bad does it have to get to ask to be taken to the emergency room (never in my life had I gotten to the point of thinking emergency room). Fortunately, I took some more medication went to bed and was grateful that the Good Lord allowed me to see another day.

My poor husband said he was sooo glad to see me this morning because he was so afraid to come and check on me, afraid I might not be breathing..... now that would be scarey for him....I would have been in a better place. My heart goes out to my many blogging friends that have lost a spouse especially lately....I know it must be so hard.

I feel like I just came through a dark tunnel to the other side and let me tell you, the other side feels awfully good right now..... Today I have a few things I have to sew for church.....so....off I go, need to hunt for some pink fabric......

but before I do...here are a few dishes from the past I thought you would like to see.

What a very sweet gift! Being people who craft ourselves we can appreciate the time and effort she put into this. She must be a good friend indeed! I'm glad you're still on "this side!" My mother lived her life having a migraine headache at least every other week. They were so debilitating and frustrating for her. I put a heating pad on my head when I get a bad headache and wrap it around my eyes. It works for me, even more than/sometimes in conjunction with pain meds. It's just an idea if you ever get another bad one.

I'm so glad you like the shawl. Remember what I told you about it. Sorry to hear about the headache. Headaches can really be terrible. I love seeing the dishes, they remind me of my aunt who loved dishes as much as you.

So glad to hear that the headache is gone. Some of them make you feel like "just kill me, I will feel better!"

The shawl is awesome!

The shawl looks pretty and snuggly soft. What a nice gift! Sorry you had such an awful headache. Were you exposed to something foul while unpacking?

Oh gosh I'm sorry to hear about your headache. I feel so blessed that I hardly ever get a headache. Hope you are much, much better today.

Cindy made you a gorgeous shawl! I love that she added fringe too. Shawls are so relaxing to crochet.

Glad to here you woke up on this side this morning! I think headache pain is the worst pain to deal with. When your head hurts and you can't think straight or even move it is horrible. Hopefully it will not return any time soon.

Oh Barb, I am so sorry that you weren't feeling well this week and dealing with such a horrible headache. I can empathize with you...I have tremendous migraines and know how debilitating they can be. I am so glad that you are feeling better and that you are still here!

Your gift from Cindy is beautiful. I would be parading around the house with it, too! What a sweet thing for her to send you....friends are the best, eh?

Take good care and have a good weekend. Get plenty of rest, too!

XOXO,

Cyndi

So glad you are feeling better and still in THIS place. We need you around awhile longer..quite awhile! I HAVE been to the ER for a headache..more times than I care to count. Back in the day I used to get frequent migraines and sometimes a shot of demerol and phenergen was all that would make it stop..and sometimes even that didn't.

I am so glad you are doing better. And getting unpacked. And enjoying your beautiful dishes again.

Cindy's shawl won't make the nasty weather go away, but it sure should make it easier to bear! Watch those headaches! The ER isn't fun, but don't play with fate.

Did my last comment take? It forced me to sign in; I forgot I wasn't. Anyway, I'm sorry to hear you had such a horrible headache; it sounds like it might have been a migraine. I understand those are just terrible. Your shawl is lovely. I put your button on my blog; your code worked like a charm! I hope you keep feeling better. I wish I could ditch my stupid cough, but it just lingers on.

Happy stitching,
Susan in Texas

I love the shawl- Hope that you have recuperated from the headache- they are never fun-
I love the dishes- my gran had some bowls like that and I have a vase that is made of similar materials. I want to call it milk glass but I don't think the name is right- I love the iridescence about it.
Regards,
Anna

Migraines are sooooo horrible!! Thankfully I haven't had a full blown one in years....knock on wood. I'm very happy that your are better!!

What a wonderful gift!! I've been thinking of making a shawl to help ward off the chill in the house.

My mother had a whole set of those dishes when I was a kid. I think they finally all got broken.

That is so cute. It looks like you. Glad you are feeling better. I sure hate those headaches. They say if it hurts like it never hurt before than go to er and demand a scan. Glad your house is looking like a home now.

What a beautiful shawl and that was so sweet of Cindy. Am so sorry about your headache, and makes me wonder about allergies. My MIL suffered for years, sometimes days on end with migraines until she went to an allergist, and found lots of culprits; for her it was hormones in meat, milk products, food preservatives...and oranges, orange juice. Take a look @ your diet/eating.
hugs to you
Judy

Oh Barb,,,,I went to bed with the worse headache last nigh as well. I feel your pain! Motrin is the biggest help to me and even it is having trouble with this one.
Love these little falling hearts as I type. Just too darned cute!

What a beautiful shawl, lucky you. I'm glad your headaches is gone. I agree with Sewmeow, a lot of foods have nitrates also, like bacon, ham, hot dogs, etc. which can cause headaches. I feel better in general when I don't eat those foods.

Just found your blog and love it. Do you ever make finger puppets? I'm making a ton for my singing group. I'll post soon how I did it.

What a wonderful shawl!! I bet you look just wonderful wrapped in it! Cindy is soo awsome!!

I hope your head is feeling better now. Headaches interfere with sewing time you know :)

Such a wonderful, thoughtful gift! I love snuggling in my shawls while watching tv or padding around the house. Nice to wear out when it's a bit nippy outside too.

I'm thankful that I rarely get headaches but hate them when I do! You just want to pop your head off and shake the headache out!

OMG!!!!!!! I LOVE the shaw!! My grandmother made one for me when I was little, and I thought I was hot stuff!! I'd give anything to have it now. LOVE THE SHAW!!!!!

Please oh please if the headache returns go to the DR or the ER. Most times they are migranes but don.t self diagnose, go have it checked. You just got got back to the states and I still want to meet you when I get to my sons!!!!
