Before I even get started, I wanted to thank all of those that have sent cards to Sandy, I apologize if I have not written to each of you individually to thanyou, this was an oversight on my part as they left the house. I truly do thank you and I know that Sandy will be so thrilled to get these letters. I have not heard from Sandy as to how she is doing but as soon as I get an update or Cyndi, we will let you know.

Now....as you walk into my home, you will see these stairs....my husband and I swore we would never get another house with stairs. Never say never.

Here is the bathroom off the entry way. Notice the three different colors. I actually like these colors. The hallways is a dark brown.

This is rather a dark picture but if you click on the picture you will be able to see the green (sage) color. I love this color. Notice no furniture...still waiting on household items.

Now here is the Lavender dining room, I didn't show all of it because it is a mess with items I haven't decided where to put. Remember the post that I said I was not a person of color for my walls...well..these walls are very colorful. I am slowly getting used to this lavender and kinda like it now. I will show you the rest of the walls at another date....don't want to bore you too long.

Next is a book I completed while waiting for the storage items to come.

Truly enjoyed this book.

On the 17th I am joining in on the auction for the Flooding in Queensland....hope you will join me. Right now I have two quilt books but I am going to add one more thing to make it more enticing.

Lavender is a favorite color of mine. Says bedroom to me although I am starting to get visions of "possibilities" after seeing Lavender in your dining room. I've got some thinking to do. Happy quilting!

Your house looks lovely. I love the color on the walls. I sure do like that couch and pillows! You have good taste! I may just get brave enough to put some color on my walls. Show us more pictures as you get settled into your new home. I'm so happy for you that it is finally happening.

I like a little color on walls. I really like the colors in your little bathroom. The lavender is a beautiful color, I'm not sure how I would like it in the dining room but I bet you can make it look wonderful. I've always said if we ever buy another house the living room would be sage green. I have to say NO to the stairs though.

Barb, you never bore us. Your house is lovely.

Tours around a house are always welcomed, even before the household supplies arrive. Such a crisp, clean home.
Color on the walls is a problem for me too. The only rooms in our house with bolder colors are the daughters' former bedrooms. Kids love their colors!

I love the lavender walls but maybe not for a dining room.

I envy your staircase, not for the climbing but for the decorating possibilities at Christmas! Your wall colours will look different again once your pictures etc. are up and they become the background not the focal point like they are now - it's all going to be lovely.

Love the colors. All you need to do is add a few quilts here and there and it will be perfect.

Oh girlie...I'm heading out Monday morning early...for 3 Quilt Shows....and I get to bring my stuff back with me (the Lord willing!! Hopefully no emergency surgeries on the way!). Just know someone has been commiserating right along with you...on not having one's stuff.
Love that lavender dining room. Can't wait to see what you do with the house. When I saw the pic of the couch on the hardwood floor all alone....I smiled. My living room is the exact same.
Hope your stuff arrives soon!

Like you new house and the colors. Lavender is something, though, that I would have to get used to. Can't wait to see how you accessorize it. Nola

Stairs aren't fun to climb, but yours are gorgeous! And I like the greens, too!

I like a house with color! When we bought this house, it was all white inside and SOOO boring! Now that Emily's room is blue, I want to paint the rest of the rooms too! Actually I want someone else to paint them for me! LOL

Stairs keep you in shape. My mom has stairs and she is in great shape and 85 yrs old. All of her friends have canes and live in single story houses. I attribute my moms health to those stairs that she she uses hundreds of times a day. LOL!

My kitchen and family room is a sage green so obviously, I like yours!

I won't say never but I certainly hope to not own a home again with stairs! Maybe after I get my knee fixed I won't mind so much. I live on a multi-level home with four levels so every time you turn around you have more stairs, ugh! We'll be downsizing in the next few years (depending on the economy) and I really want one-level living but we'll see what happens. My husband likes off-white walls so it's hard for me to get color on them but I have splashes here and there. I try to bring color in with other things. You have some fun options in your new home and I just know you'll make it feel like home before you know it....that is if you haven't already. :)

Your house looks terrific. I'm sure you'll have fun filling it up with your stuff. Just too bad it's not in Texas. 8)

All the best,

Our youngest daughter's favorite color is lavender. Love that book too. Have fun filling up each room exactly as you like. Can't wait to see how they all turn out. As to the stairs...we are moving in the spring (hopefully) and we said we won't ever have stairs again. We have them now and they are a nightmare at times!! Hugs

I like stairs, as long as I sleep upstairs. Too many years in the mountains I guess.

I love color, but tend to shy away from using it on my walls. Your home looks really pretty with color and I may have to rethink my ideas. I did paint my sewing room sage and LOVE it.

Your house is lovely Barb, I love color in my home. The stairway is beautiful, but I understand how you feel about climbing stairs. Thanks for taking us on a tour.

I like all the colors in your house, Barb. And guess what? Until I repainted my dining room (and kitchen) aqua last summer, it was lavender! I loved it. It's connected to my kitchen and I had painted that green. My living room is periwinkle, my bedroom and bathroom are green, my guest room is lavender...well, you get the picture! Lots of colors going on here!

And your staircase and hardwood floors are gorgeous!

XOXO,

Cyndi

I love the colors, though I would probably never paint my walls that color. I tend to go with the eggshell and then put dashes of color with pillows and accents and quilts of course.

Thanks for stopping by my blog and commenting on my UFO's there will be more posts about UFO's to come. I am going to finish them!

I love color in my house - I just have a hard time deciding which one! We're currently going to repaint the dining room to a gray/blueish color.
