SURPRISES AND GIFTIES FROM FRIENDS

Got a call from a friend this morning, she wanted to go to lunch.... I am so busy besides I am such a baby when it comes to leaving my friends that I opted for her to come over for a visit.

I didn't know she was bringing friends.

This is what they gave me as going away gifts.

What is better than fabric...but what is so wonderful about this fabric it is called Elei, it is Samoan way of printing on fabric (yes, I already told you that, sorry).
I am showing each one individually and hope you can see the beauty in it all.

Then they gave me two Samoan plates, they already had it bubble wrapped for me so it would hopefuly not get broken....hope you can see the designs. Just love them.

Then Krista gave me this sewing mat for my pfaff...isn't it gorgeous...I just love it!!! She showed me one she did for herself and I was all over it with envy and wishing I could make me one but...she beat me too it.... Thanks Krista... now you see why I am having a hard time saying goody-bye...not because of the gifts either..... These are some amazing friends.

Then Krista made these templates for me on her cricket...boy....I can't wait to get to a machine...what fun these are going to be.

what a blessing friends like those can be! I am sure you will make wonderful friends where you go, and remember fondly these ones. Look at the lives you have touched!

What beautiful gifts. Barb. With the internet though, it is so easy to keep those friendships. It makes the world seem so much smaller. You can't have long before you leave now.

Goodbyes are always hard, but you're going to take some wonderful memories, and some wonderful gifts too. Think of the fun you will have with those fabrics, and the precuts.

Moving, leaving old friends, is soooo hard! I know these gals are going to miss you ;( but, in just a few short weeks you will be settled in, the holidays will be upon us, and before you know it, it will be a New Year, a New Chapter and New friends and adventures. Thursday, at our meal, I will be thanking our Lord for many things, and of course meeting you will be one of them....I can't even remember now how I first came to know about you, and CANNOT wait to meet you in person!!!!
Those little cut outs are adorable, can't wait to see what you make- and the fabrics are lovely....it is like batik?
fondly, Sandy

How sweet! You will have to make a special keepsake for yourself from that fabric, and the templates are wonderful, too. Perhaps you can put the two together...

Do you use artfire pro or just the regular artfire?

What wonderful friends you've made, Barb! The gifts they gave you are testament to how much you are loved! I know it will be hard to leave them, but true friendships never die...and with the internet, friends are never more than an e-mail away! Hopefully they'll be able to come and visit you in your new home!

XOXO,

Cyndi

P.S. Drooling over that red fabric!

Love the fabrics and little gifties you received from your friends in AS. They are going to miss you just as much as you'll miss them. And..it's time to GO make some new friends in VA.

Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family, Barb.

Oh Barb, what a roller coaster of feelings you must be having right now. You have such wonderful friends. Those gifts are beautiful and that fabric is gorgeous. Do you know how to do that? Could you do a tutorial in your spare time? Just kidding. Stay well.

I would find it very hard to leave friends like that. I guess that is why I am not the one who is moving. Stay strong and make lots of new friends in VA. Those cutouts are cute!

Lucky you ... lovely friends you have. The fabrics are fantastic. Loved the first teal colored, drooled over the purple and almost swooned over the red with the fantastic starfish design.

Barb,
They say that one gets what one gives and I know few others who give as much as you do to friends and family.
I am sure that your Samoan friends will miss your enthusiasm and love of life greatly.
I hope you have a safe journey to Virginia. It will be another new adventure and the opportunity to make different relationships. Your friends will remain in your heart- I suspect you will go back to visit now and then.
The fabrics are lovely as is the new sewing mat.
Warmest regards,
Anna

I sure do see the beauty of these friendships, just as clearly as I see how pretty those fabrics and gifts are. I'm glad that you can keep in touch through email and blogging. No, it's not the same, I know. Will be thinking about you this week and hoping all things go smoothly. Wish we could share a slice of Thanksgiving pie! I made pumpkin - big surprise, lol!! :-D
