WHERE HAVE I BEEN? WHAT HAVE I BEEN DOING?

Ironing

I blanket stitched this table runner..... you can find it at inchworm fabrics

Working on the border for this quilt. Something about doing all this blanket stitching that has made my mind go blank...and no desire to post, no desire to sew...just want mindless work..so the blanket stitch is perfect for that.

Today I taught two classes. I actually did my first trunk show...it was awesome. The first class had 20 students and the second maybe had 12. The second class was those that have sewed on a machine before.

I have decided that whether I am knowledgeable or not that I love to teach....brings me great satisfaction and happiness.

How exciting that you gave a trunk show. Nothing like being able to share your passion.

It's funny how we can go through these phases of needing something mindless to do isn't it? I have to agree with you about the teaching too.

Barb, your blanket stitch project is beautiful. I know you are a wonderful teacher and I bet you beam when you see your students projects. You should be proud. Teaching is an honor only bestowed to a few.

You have done a lot of ironing! I like doing the blanket stitch as I can think about other things and still be creative.

Teaching is fun for me. I love it when I see "the lights come on" in students eyes.

Congrats on your trunk show. I'm sure those in attendance left inspired!

I'm thinking that there is so much going on in your life right now that "mindless" blanket stitching is just what you need to destress and refresh you mind.

Glad to see you back. I was getting worried. Teaching and trunk shows are two of my favourite things too! But the blanket stitch - I don't know about that. If I want to do mindless handwork, I do applique or English paper piecing.

Wanna hear something weird? I love to iron. I zone out and do my best thinking there. Yeah, I'm weird. LOL

I really love your Patriotic table runner. I have nothing patriotic and should make one.

Congrats on teaching! You must get a lot of satisfaction from those happy faces.

You've been busy doing a little of this a little of that. I know ironing is important but is definitely not my favorite quilting activity.

I bet your a great teacher ;)

Lots of pilla cases!! Yes I too understand the need for mindless sewing from time to time...;-).
I do a goodly bit of machine applique and use this stitch a lot. It can be adjusted in so many ways just like any other stitch.
I bet you are an awesome fun Teach!
Maybe when you get back stateside you can do more trunk shows!!!
Hugs,
Lola

I can imagine that you have not felt the energy to blog with all that you have been doing, Barb. Good to see what you have been up to.

Your blanket stitching may be mindless, but it is very neat and even!
