MEET MY NEW FRIENDS

Aren't these ladies just beautiful? They are the 3 gals that I am teaching to sew different things( they are going to teach the group of 25 when they get machines)instead of me, I will be getting ready to move. What is really great, they already know how to sew....so we moved rather quickly.

We only had one machine (the one I had sent to Texas)....I know, I could have pulled out Mr. Pfaff but the whole reason I brought Mr. Daddy Pfaff was to not have to use Mr. Pfaff. I actually thought they were bringing machines. So here they are with their totes they made.

Well...I got a phone call asking for directions this morning and at that time, I kinda figured out that there would only be my machine. So I thought while one was sewing, the others could be making these flowers.... cute huh?

One gal asked if I knew how to make those drawstring backpacks (she wants to do one on Thursday). I said no but...it just so happened that in one of those magazines my friend sent there was a pattern. When I showed her the pattern, she once again asked if I made one before. I said no but by Thursday I will know. So that is the plan for Thursday.

Now, tomorrow is Wednesday, Thimbleberries Sew Day. I will be finishing my wall hanging....are any of you joining me? If so, leave a comment so I can come by an visit. Crazy about quilts is not joining us due to her trying to get her new home ready to move into.
I am posting this to get that ugly critteer off the top of my blog.

Beautiful ladies with beautiful totes. When are you leaving the island? Are you going somewhere really, really cold next?

Ewwwwwwwwwe! that critter gave me the jeebies too! Barb, are you leaving Samoa?
I was reading through the lines a bit I think, teaching the ladies to sew before you leave?
Are you being transferred back to the States, or moving to another exotic country?
Those ladies will never forget your kindness.

The totes and flowers are great. I think the girls will do just fine teaching. Nice girls. That was a "big" critter, and it looked like it had a lot of legs. It bit the "dust".
Happy Quilting!

Hi Barb, So glad that critter is gone. Had one in our house before, too. ICK!!! Can't join for Sew Day as I am doing house stuff, too. My month has not been long enough, and August is going to be a blur too.

What a busy gal you are, and what fun to share your talents with these ladies. Have a great time!

...Karen

Very beautiful. They remind me of the women who used to babysit me in California. It's so wonderful that they are taking over for you and teaching.

Lovely women, lovely totes and gorgeous little flowers! Much prettier than the centipede. I had to laugh when you said that no manly types were around to save you from the icky bug. It seemed that EVERY TIME my husband would go out of town I would have a major bug encounter. I did find that you can vacuum up almost anything (and if you suck up a little clean kitty litter right afterwards, those bugs are history!) 8)

Happy quilting,
Susan

PS Looking forward to the drawstring tote pictures.
