MY HAUL ON MOTHER'S DAY

I left my mother's on Mother's day....had a nice drive back to my sons and this is what was waiting for me on his stand by the couch.....

Oh....yesssss..... Notice that it is opened....

oink!! oink!!!

He knows the way to his mothers heart..... He has taken his father's place of being my enabler (trying to lose weight)....yes, no one says I have to eat them.

What? Put them on my wall.....you have got to be kidding!!!

You are kidding!!

And yes, I love sweets....don't judge me!! That is why I am so sweet.

The rest is mail call... when I got back from my mothers this is what was waiting for me.

I purchased this at Piwacket Crafts Store, she was having a wonderful sale of items she no longer wanted in her sewing room.

My poor husband, he probably thought the online buying would stop once I got off the island.....WRONG!!!!!

Mary from Quilt Hollow got me hooked on schnibbles and so I went on line (yes...again)...and ordered these from Quilt Taffy, I hope I can get around to making them.

Then my new best friend Kelly over at I have a notion, sent me the scissor fob and a little something extra from her giveaway extravaganza she had last month....thanks Kelly!!

I talked to one son yesterday and one son in Japan called me today giving me the expectation of getting some Japanese fabric in the mail....I don't know if my heart can take it....the anxiety of waiting for this fabric.

Then my one son is sick but will be over later because we are doing a conference call online to my one son who is in the West Indies serving a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I sure miss my sons when they are not around.

Isn't it great being a mom?????

It sounds like you had a wonderful day and getting to talk to all the boys....that's the best, huh? I have the Cindy Lou Who pattern....looks like a lot of fun but it will probably be fall before I get to it as I have Trailer Trash to finish so I can run around with my MJ Farm sisters.

Don't you know M&M's with peanuts isn't fattening? It has ruffage (the peanuts). My theory is you don't have to worry about sweets or calories when you eat things when ruffage (e.g. peanut M&Ms, donuts with sprinkles on top, etc).

Glad to hear you had a nice Mother's Day. But I do realize it would even be nicer if all your boys were home with you. Soon.

Hugs!

Hi Barb,

Happy Mother's Day. You asked if Minkee is hard to work with. I don't find it so, but I only use it for quilt backs which I spray baste (using LOTS of spray). It is very smooth on the back and doesn't take the spray very well so I use LOTS. I would never try to use pins or thread basting to quilt with it. I'm told it is VERY slippery to sew with and that you have to use LOTS of pins. I believe it; I never intend to try that.

It quilts just lovely. There is more drag during stippling than a normal cotton backed quilt would have, which lets me make a larger stipple pattern. It doesn't make needles break or do anything weird like that. I love it for quilt backs; I just wish it wasn't so expensive! You should definitely try it, but plan to spray baste.

Hope this helps,
Susan

Oh like any of us could judge you for eating chocolate. I would eat every Tim Tam in the state if I knew where they all were....and I'm not even kidding.

Ha ha...did the boys "name" the boys on the card? ("oh that is _____, and I am that one")

I was wondering if your son wuld get to call from his mission since he is in the West Indies. I know they can only call home at certain times.

Eat a handful of M&M's for me.

Love the Schnibbles. They are very addictive...

We are at the cottage, so only phone calls from sons. But yes, we are lucky those of us that have moms too!

That is a haul, for sure! Your sons obviously know you well :) Lucky you.

I have managed so far to avoid the Schnibbles virus, but so far am clear as my daughters simply got me a gift certificate rather than the Schnibbles Times Two book I mentioned. Good luck with your addiction!
