IT IS THE SIMPLE THINGS!!

I usually don't put non quilty things on this blog, those things are reserved for my personal blog but....as I was cleaning the bathroom while my husband was away....I noticed this:

Now for some of you.....it is no big deal to put the toilet paper on the holder. I have a bad habit of not doing that....but my husband will come along and put it on the holder and when I see that he has done that...well...for some reason it gives me a warm fuzzy. I know, you all are laughing....okay...go ahead at my expense.

Like when he goes to bed before me and tuns down the covers on my side, this always brings a smile to my face.

Or when we had the 6.6 earthquake at 4 in the morning....scared me half out of my wits....the bed going wild, the earth groaning....I had to wake my husband up. He was already awake and said so but it was just nice to have his voice in the dark and to know that if I was going to die, I would die by his side and he was going to be awake with me in our last moments on earth.... I wanted him to be scared too....didn't want all the excitement to myself.

So yes, it is the simple things in life!! Enjoy your day and see if you can find a simple pleasure you might not have noticed. I promise not to post too many of these personals on this blog but I have so many wonderful friends and thought I would share this with you....my friends.

I don't know how others feel, but I enjoy non-quilty things, also, on the blogs of my quilter friends. I like to get to know more about my friends than just one aspect of their personalities.....like to know about their other interests, their families, where they live, etc. So don't apologize when you put something non-quilty on here. With my local quilting friends (who I see in person), do I only want to talk to them about quilting stuff??? NOPE...I don't....I want to get to know more of that person than just quilting....and that's how I feel about blogging friends, too. That is MY feeling....and I'm sticking to it!!!

I am shocked! I have that exact same wooden toilet paper holder with the same colored "springy thingy" in the middle.

It is good to have your honey by your side when the earth moves unexpectedly!

How sweet, and how nice that you notice the simple things he does. My husband woke me during my "after school nap" yesterday, first I was mad, but he wanted to know what I wanted for supper, he was going to fix it before he left for work. awwweee

Oh Barb, I think it is very nice to post some personal things on your blog. I too have a dear hubby who puts the toilet paper on the roll for me. It's the little things that speak love.

Barb, you are so funny. But in my house not only do my DH put the toiletpaper on the empty roll, my kids too. Another thing in my home wich drives me crazy is an empty milk bottle in the refrigarator. Have a nice day!

That is a familiar sight around my house too. Great advice for everyday.

Once I was in a small fender bender, I called my husband, I was fine, the second he came, I started to cry, it is a wonderful feeling, to know we are being loved and cared for, we have been married 32 yeras!

Sounds like you have a great relationship with your hubby. It's okay to miss him, and I love the picture... a great reminder!

You must have trained dh right, I'm the one who puts the toilet paper on the roll in this household and the soap in the dispenser. Well he's cleaning my kitchen right now so I'd better not complain.

I think it's sweet that Prince charming puts his cigarette butts in his shirt pocket instead of pitching them into the grass - where I promptly go & fetch them. I HATE, HATE, HATE ciarette butts where I live. To Me? It's littering (as I do not smoke & never have...) but to him - a butt is nothing....He puts the roll on top too. Though I'm thankfull that he remembers to put his socks in the hamper - or the dogs play with them!!

Barb,

Are you guys still okay - they said on the news that the Tsunami went all the way to Pago Pago - so, I want to check on you...

Please let us know as soon as you are able...

Yes it is those simple little things that make life worth living. It is having the coffee made when I come downstairs in the morning or listening to my grandson laugh or waking up in the middle of the night and seeing my dog asleep on the floor beside me.

I am the only person who puts the paper in the holder. Have one like yours too I think.
Anyway I also like it to "roll over" if you know what I mean.
Hope all is well there.

How odd that you blogged about an earthquake and then suffered one and a tsunami. I've been so worried about you and have prayed all night. So glad to hear you were able to contact Tonya. Hang in there, friend, and know that you are loved.

Barb, are you okay? The news here in Minnesota is showing us a very tragic story and I hope you and your hubby are okay.

Heard about the tsunami from Pat- hope everything is ok!!! Not scary enough to have an earthquake of that magnitude - but throw some water on it too!!!
Love hearing the personal side too - my husband drives me crazy, but keeps me sane at the same time - don't know what I'd do without him (most of the time- wink, wink!!)

I'm sorry I missed you when you messaged me on Facebook's CHAT. I was in the other room working on church music. When I came back, I tried to reply but you were offline. I was SO disappointed I didn't get to "chat" with you. I will try to be here at 9:30 tonight MY time, to see if you can get on there then to chat. If not, we will keep trying until we catch each other there, okay??? Hope you can feel the hugs across the miles.

Hey everyone, they are okay. I talked to her last night. The internet is very slow but she said she would post pictures as soon as she could. It has been hard for them to get calls off the island.
